'Yellowstone' Star Wes Bentley Plays Jamie Dutton Brilliantly — inside His Role on the TV Show

Wes Bentley is currently praised for his excellent performance as Jamie Dutton in "Yellowstone." Aside from the fact that sometimes it is hard to love Jamie, you still have a lot to learn about the famous character.

Bentley has been playing Jamie in the hit Paramount Network show since 2018, as reported by Wide Open Country. On the show, Jamie is the son of John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner.

Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly played his onscreen siblings Kayce and Beth Dutton. Jamie has a strained relationship with Beth, and they are always fighting.

Meanwhile, Jamie is devoted to protecting the interests of their ranch. He does that voluntarily, and he does not care if anyone appreciates him or not.

"I think for Jamie, there's a lot of conflict in him with his family and trying to find his place," he explained in an interview with Screenrant.

"His loyalties continue to be tested in season 2, and he continues to look for himself," the actor added. "It's seems to be a lifelong search, but it never can be a search without something dramatic happening."

Jamie's relationship with his assistant Christina, played by Katherine Cunningham, gradually developed from a professional one into a more intimate one when Jamie came to work closely with her.

But when things took a turn for the worse professionally, something very similar happened to their relationship.

"I think Jamie's relationship with Christina is still in an early, so I don't even know if he knows how he feels about her," Bentley told Screenrant.

He added that there's a lot of hope in Christina that he believes Jamie puts into her. He also believes that Jamie needs to find out how he truly feels about her.

As reported by Good Housekeeping, Bentley stays quiet on why Beth detests Jamie very much, but he hinted that it is related to something that occurred during their childhood.

Meanwhile, Jamie took over as Livestock Commissioner in Season 3 after his father John has to resign, TV Insider reported. However, Jamie is already in the middle of quite the mess.

Bentley was born in Jonesboro, but grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas, according to Wide Open Country. He attended Juilliard School in New York City studying drama, but after one year, he decided to drop out to focus on his acting career.

Bentley then starred in several films and TV series. In 2010, he married producer Jacqui Swedberg. The couple have two children — daughter Brooklyn and son Charles.
