'Harlem Nights' Star Lela Rochon Celebrates Daughter Asia's 18th Birthday — See Her Sweet Tribute

Lela Rochon from 'Harlem Nights' paid tribute to her grown-up daughter as she gushed over their bond in photos she posted in honor of her child's 18th birthday.

"Harlem Nights" star Lela Rochon took a look back in time as she celebrated her only daughter, Asia Fuqua's 18th birthday with several throwbacks and recent photos of her child with Antoine Fuqua.

In her touching tribute to Asia, she set her location to reflect the words "proud mama." Lela recalled her daughter being born at 10:46 am. The actress also recalled that looking into her newborn's eyes pierced her soul.

Lela said that raising her daughter was something that she considered to be a great honor. Despite all her success, Lela admitted having Asia was better than any of her starring roles.

She also gushed over her daughter's many talents, which included, being a "great student," Asia's Love for politics and activism, and her "incredible singing voice."

In Lela's heartfelt post, she shared a few words of encouragement for Asia and told her the world was her oyster. Adding a spiritual take on her advice, Lela said:

"Continue to work hard and God will bless you with all the desires of your heart...Keep shining bright and making us proud!"

Asia responded to her mother's birthday message and gushed, "love you soooooo much." Many of Lela's fans and celebrity friends including Tina Lawson and Vivica A. Fox sent well wishes to the 18-year-old. Holly Robinson Peete wrote:

"I can't process this!!! So proud of you beautiful smart young sharp and woke young woman!!!!! You give me hope. Auntie Holly loves you."

Lela's birthday message to her daughter comes almost a year since she took a hiatus from social media after her husband was pictured in Italy kissing Nicole Murphy in July 2019.

Lela didn't share photos with Antoine or their son Brando in her birthday message to Asia. However, she shared a throwback photo of her husband and daughter on her Instagram story.
