YORK IS A BLESSING

Banks is the mother to her son York Banks Asla who was born in January 2016 when she was in a relationship with Norwegian photographer Erik Asla. They welcomed their little bundle of joy via surrogate.

York changed his mother's life the moment he came into the world, but having him was a journey riddled with heartbreak and pain. When her son was born, Banks felt like she had found the light at the end of the tunnel.

STRUGGLES WITH FERTILITY

In 2015, she revealed that she had pretty traumatic experiences with IVF. Her heart ached with a longing for children, but things simply did not work out in her favor even after a whole year of trying.

She always wanted to be the kind of mom who her child could go to for everything. In vitro fertilization never worked for her and it pained her loved ones to see her in a sad state, especially her mother, Carolyn London.

In an interview with People, London opened up about the pain that her daughter endured as she patiently waited for a miracle even though she had every reason to give up hope. She said:

"She set up a nursery and in the bathroom she put a tile in the floor that said, 'Mommy Already Loves You.' And then she found out the IVF had failed."

Amid quarantine, Banks had been spending plenty of time with her little one and even homeschooled him. He is growing up to be a smart kid and already speaks three different languages!
