Costco Gas Pump Keeps Charging Customer after It Stopped Filling — It's Not the First Time
A gas pump at a Costco station tried to scam a motorist when the meter continued to charge them after the fuel nozzle had stopped dispensing. This citizen made a video to alert the public about the problem.
A gas station pump was the cause of upheaval at a Costco branch. A motorist who attempted to fill up their car with fuel noticed something strange about the fee on their gas machine.
To prove what they witnessed, the citizen decided to record the incident quickly. In the clip, viewers were shown how the price per gallon surprisingly increased in small increments.

REPORTING THE PROBLEM
The citizen clearly held the fuel pump in the air to indicate that it was nowhere near the car's gas tank and it was certainly not providing them with more gas.
The citizen remained silent while recording the clip, but the footage spoke for itself. It condemned the gas station's negligence and has since gained many different reactions online.
OUTRAGED BY THE SCAMMING
The public was furious about this negligent attitude and the potential scamming occurring at the gas station every day. The concerned citizen shared this video to warn fellow motorists about the problem.
Online users were quick to give their thoughts on why the pump was faulty. One user stated that they worked at a gas station for many years and explained that "the seal was worn."

DEFENDING THE GAS STATION
While most viewers were infuriated by what was happening with this fuel dispenser, not everyone felt the same way. One online user defended the gas station.
They shared that Costco takes its gas pumps seriously. "It's the only gas station I've ever been to where they have people constantly walking around the pumps making sure everything's 100%," the user concluded.

WARNING DRIVERS
In 2015, Luis Maya shared a similar experience. He said a Costco gas station pump robbed him on Pelandale Avenue in Modesto. When he attempted to report the problem, he was allegedly met with an unexpectedly careless response.
Maya showed the Costco staff his own video proof but claimed they surprisingly said they were already aware of it, adding that it was not the only pump causing issues.

DOUBLE-CHECK YOUR PUMP
Maya consequently uploaded his video and urged motorists to double-check if their pump stopped charging them once the gas nozzle was removed.
He expressed:
"I feel this is stealing, even though it's some change coming out of my account, but it adds up when you have hundreds of people that may not check throughout the day."

WATCH THE METER CREEP
The gas nozzle manufacturer Husky indicated that the reasons for this malfunction are varied. They stated that the "meter creep" could happen because pump parts were faulty or because the dispenser had an internal issue.
Globally, fuel dispensers must go through rigorous safety tests and requirements. However, not all gas stations seem to be meeting these necessities. These stories and videos alerted the public to watch their gas pumps more diligently in the future!
