"Black Panther" quickly became a hit for its depiction of deep-rooted Black experience themes, while the predominantly black cast turned it into a cultural touchstone.

The bonafide film icon Chadwick Boseman played King T'Challa while Lupita Nyong'o took on the role of Nakia, T'Challa's former partner and a spy for the Wakanda Kingdom.

A ROMANCE THAT NEVER WAS

The chemistry between the King of Wakanda and his former flame caught many fans' eyes. T'challa and Nakia may have been trying to bring their characters to life, but it translated to something entirely different for fans.

Fans worldwide swooned over the on-screen romance, and many expressed their desire for the two to date in real life. It never came to be.

However, the lack of romance did not take away from their emotional connection. Whenever the two discussed the movie, fans could see the passion and vision they attached to the importance of the film, and fans were all for it.

To mirror what was already on everyone else's minds, Boseman admitted on an episode of E! Red Carpet & Award Shows that Nyong'o was a beautiful, assertive and intelligent person. He added:

"It is not hard to fall in love with Lupita."

NYONG'O PREFERS HER LIFE PRIVATE

He continued to praise Nyong'o, which was insightful to fans as the actress prefers to keep her life private. In 2019, the Oscar winner appeared on the cover of Vogue U.K. to speak about why she keeps her life so private.

She referred to privacy as a commodity that is hard to come by. She, however, loves to speak out about the courses that are close to her heart. Over the years, the star has made remarkable friendships.

When Nyong'o was doing promotional tours for " 12 Years A Slave," she was linked to Jared Leto. But Nyong'o says they were and remain good friends, and he is still on her speed dial.

BOSEMAN MARRIED SECRETLY

Boseman, on the other hand, began dating Taylor Simone Ledward. The couple was first spotted together in 2015 before making their red carpet debut in 2019.

The news that they had been married privately, months before the star succumbed to the battle with cancer, was only brought to public attention after Boseman passed on.
