Betty White Died a Year Ago: She Recorded a Final Message before Her Death
As 2021 drew to a close on Friday last week, so did the life of beloved actress and TV’s favorite grandma, Betty White.
White passed away in her sleep in her home on Friday morning at the age of 99 years old, just weeks shy of her 100th birthday on the 17th of January.
The news came as a shock to many adoring fans as White was in seemingly good health, and there was no indication that she may be passing on.
Fans and colleagues worldwide were heartbroken to find out that Hollywood had lost one of its most talented and experienced actresses, but many took comfort in the fact that she did not suffer a long illness.
Earlier this year, White revealed to People that she felt blessed to feel as good as she did at her age and thought that it was “amazing” that she felt well.
Her agent, who confirmed the news of her death, said:
"Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,"
Her last message to fans before she passed away was one of thanks. In a video that she addressed to her fans, she thanked them for their love and support over the years. The video was posted on her Facebook page and was intended to be released on her 100th birthday, but was sent out earlier because of her death.
RIP to a true Hollywood legend who is missed by many.
