7 Ways The MCU Will End With 'Avengers 4': The Most Plausible Outcomes
Avengers followers are not happy to know that Infinity War was the beginning of the end, and the upcoming production for next May will conclude the saga for our favorite superhero group. That is why everybody is eagerly waiting to see how this movie will play out.
While we have this lengthy and despairing wait, let's quench our thirst with some fan theories about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its end for the Avengers. We have to confess that they truly bewildered us. Continue reading to know what we are talking about!

1. Retirement time
We hate to admit that, more than a theory, this is pure reality kicking in. It is no secret to anybody that Avengers 4 marks the termination of the contracts that Marvel has with Robert Downey, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, and Chris Hemsworth.
Moreover, Downey and Evans already broke our hearts when they announced that this production would be the last one for them playing the famous characters Iron Man and Captain America respectively because they won't return to the MCU. Apparently, both of them want to pursue a career beyond Marvel.

Hemsworth, on his side, had good news for his fans when he expressed his desire to return as Thor, so it is very likely that Disney will renew his contract, and we will enjoy Thor 4. As for Renner, his figure might die in the upcoming film; thus, it would be the end for him as an actor in MCU.
A 3-movie arc is being planned for Hulk; for that reason, we will see more of Ruffalo shortly. The rest, which includes Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and all the Guardians of the Galaxy will be part of Phase 4.

2. Burying Avengers
We've already mentioned this one before, but the upcoming film will end the title of Avengers' movies in the MCU. It seems as if it was yesterday when the heroes were getting together for Phase 1. Well, more than ten years have passed by, and we will soon see a whole new team rising in Phase 4.
The title will be buried forever in our memories after completing the story in May next year. For the next phase, we have the A-Force stepping up as well as the survivors of the second part of Infinity War. Movies like the Black Widow, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange 2, and Black Panther 2 have already been confirmed for Phase 4.

3. Delving into the cosmo
The first phases showed us mainly Earth and its mightiest superheroes, although we had an appetizer of the cosmo with characters such as the Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor. However, it is expected that phase 4 will shift the spotlight from our planet to explore the depths of the Marvel Universe.
With Captain Marvel making her debut soon, and the Guardians and the God of Thunder having set up the cosmo pretty well, we could quickly see other figures such as Nova, Adam Warlock, or others such as the Inhumans and the Champions.

4. No more appeal for the Infinity Stones
The mighty and disastrous gems that garnish the Infinity Gauntlet will probably lose their charm in Avengers 4 after having fulfilled their purpose in the prior production. Perhaps, they will be scattered throughout the universe, giving room to other Marvel relics like the Ultimate Nullifier, M'kraan Crystal, or "the nexus of all realities".
5. Phase 5?
Although we would love to hear that we still have more phases for our future, it is very likely that the fourth one will be the last, and we won't see a fifth or a sixth. The continuous storyline of these periods might be over, and many connected things could continue happening, but not via phases.

6. The bad guy
Everybody thinks that Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet will be the primary villain of next year's movie. But perhaps, he won't be the only bad guy. Toy figures have always been an excellent strategy to hint something about films, and the Thor & Rocket toy pack revealed an essential detail of the villain.
As we might remember, the God of Thunder teamed up with Rocket and the other Guardians to travel across space and forge his new weapon, Stormbreaker, in order to have the necessary power to defeat the Mad Titan. According to Comicbook, the description of the toy pack reads:
"The Asgardian Thor wields the mighty Stormbreaker in his battle against new foes. Rocket teams up with a new crew to guard the galaxy from an even greater threat."

By "a greater threat", many people assume that it is someone more fearsome than Thanos, leading to mass speculation that Avengers 4 could have a far more sinister villain. Followers theorize that it could be Annihilus, which makes sense considering the last point of our list.
Even though the rights to the figure can be a murky subject, Comicbook explained they might well be Marvel Studio's possession. Annihilus is originally a villain for the Fantastic Four, an Arthosian bug creature with immortality, an insectoid exoskeleton, and wings to move at fast speeds.

He is the wielder of the Cosmic Control Rod, a tool that can mess stuff up by manipulating the structure of matter. And if that is not enough, he has an army on his side called the Annihilation Wave that genuinely knows how to destroy a place.
The inclusion of an intergalactic new foe makes a lot of sense if Marvel Studios wants to move forward in the cosmos. This character has a sufficient dramatic effect to replace Thanos since he is not called "The Living Death That Walks" for no reason.

7. The title
We deliberately leaked some information about the last point of our list, the controversial and long-discussed title of the upcoming production that Disney and Marvel haven't been ready to show. In fact, they love trolling the world with it and torturing fans.
For instance, a few days ago, the Russo brothers posted on Twitter a cryptic photo captioned "look hard" that sent followers into a title-seeking rage, coming up with "Endgame" as the possible title for Avengers 4. A few days ago, Ruffalo showed up on Jimmy Fallon's show to troll fans about the title as well.

What not everybody knows is that, shortly before that occurred, the title might have leaked for real. MCU Cosmic dropped the bomb some days before stating that a reliable source told him that the conclusion of Infinity War is Avengers: Annihilation. This makes total sense if the previous point on our list indeed happens.
And although many fans believe that Annihilation is a different story and does not fit the forthcoming movie, it would not be the first time that Marvel Studios shakes things up by not sticking to the comics in lockstep. Moreover, the report comes from a pretty trustworthy source.

MCU Cosmic’s Jeremy Conrad indicated that he was in contact with Disney before announcing the alleged title. That being said, we’re back to waiting, but it’s tough enough trying to process bombs like the ones we have just presented. Time will tell whether Conrad was right or not.
