Rihanna's grandfather wows the crowd with his dance skills in his 90th birthday video
If you’ve ever wondered where Rihanna got her dancing skills from, then you should see this video of her granddaddy lighting up the dance floor at his 90th birthday party. We’re not sure, however, if that’s where she got her savagery, which one troll recently witnessed.
Despite her busy schedule as a world-class singer, fashion designer, and makeup entrepreneur, Rihanna made time to be with her family a few days back as they celebrated the huge milestone in her grandfather’s life. The Barbados native jetted home last weekend for the family affair, and she sure had a good time with family.
They celebrated Lionel "Bravo" Braithwaite's 90th birthday at a restaurant called The Cliff in Durants, and it appeared they had the whole place to themselves for a private party.
Videos from the fun event show exactly where Rihanna got her talent. Grandpa Bravo, though 90, easily led the pack on the dance floor.
The clips show him spinning Rihanna effortlessly as he showed off some impressive legwork and moves. You’d think Rihanna is more agile and should lead her grandpa with the upbeat music, but the nonagenarian left no one in doubt as to who is the leader in their dance duet.
Life in the tropical island of Barbados also seems to agree with the birthday star, who looked and acted nothing like his age; he could pass for someone way younger.
For her grandpa’s big day, the “Anti” singer looked stunning in a ruffled red dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves. She kept her jewelry simple with a single gold necklace and wore her raven locks down and free.
The “Fenty” boss, known for her bold makeup statements, decided to go more subtle this time, probably because it was a family gathering.
Bad Girl Riri has often credited her grandfather as the reason for her existence. According to The Daily Mail UK, Bravo missed his boat to Guyana 63 years ago to court her grandmother Clara, also known as "Dolly."
Besides partying it up with her grandfather, Rihanna also got to spend time with her parents, Ronald and Monica Fenty, and her best friend, Melissa Forde.
Rihanna has a reputation for throwing the best parties. She recently threw a baby shower for her best friend, so we won’t be surprised if she masterminded the fun birthday bash of a man who means so much to her.
Such is her devotion to her grandfather and grandmother that she named a foundation after them back in 2012. The Clara Lionel Foundation is a non-profit organization established by Rihanna to assist impoverished communities across the globe, with healthcare, and education, and other essential needs.
Despite being a Barbadian, the 30-year-old has often distinguished herself as a global citizen who is genuinely concerned about the world. One rude non-fan tried to undermine that recently and promptly got Rihanna’s savage side.
In the days leading up to the just-concluded U.S Midterm elections, the “Lemon” singer fulfilled her civic duty by using her platform to encourage people to vote.
On November 6, she shared an Instagram post containing a list of 15 states that allow same-day registration for voters.
Alongside the post, she wrote:
“It’s ELECTION DAY America!!! The most important day for the rest of your lives...all you have is right now! TODAY!! If you’re tired of complaining about the state of the country and government, get up and do something about it!!!"
That was all it took for a troll to ask rudely in the comments: “Are you even a US citizen? Honest curiosity.”
And without wasting time, Riri clapped back:
“Nah I’m an immigrant tryna get yo country together. Did u vote?”
