LeAnn Rimes's incredible performance at the 2013 AMAs became one of the most memorable tributes to Patsy Cline. The amazing rendition of the country music queen's songs by Rimes blew the crowd away.

Cline's sudden death in a plane crash on March 5, 1963, left a hole in the industry. Her fans and fellow artists have been mourning the loss of the legend ever since.

RIMES' PERFORMANCE

Rimes' performance at the awards was recorded—her medley of Cline's songs on the AMA stage was shared on YouTube in December 2013.

The "Blue" singer has been compared to the country music legend many times over the course of her career. Her amazing rendition only proved how apt the comparison was.

Rimes took the stage wearing a full-length Naeem Khan sequined dress that displayed her stunning curves. The pale pink v-neck empire waist gown in tulle and caviar beading was from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection.

She began her performance by singing some of Cline's most famous tracks in her unique style. The performance is shown through a black and white filter. Cline's portrait served as the stage's backdrop.

Rimes held a vintage-looking microphone, reminiscent of one that Cline used for her performances back in the day. Before the show began, Rimes was excited to be performing.

With her strong vocals and sincere emotions, Rimes bewitched the audience. Her rendition was soulful, especially when she sang Cline's classic songs like “Leavin' On Your Mind” and “Crazy.”

RIMES' BREAKDOWN AND COPING MECHANISM

At the end of her performance, Rimes gave in to her emotions. Tears flowed down her face and reminded fans why they loved her.

However, for Rimes, the tears would have flown sooner but she thought of an unconventional way to cope with the emotions. The singer later revealed that thinking about sex a lot kept her from crying.

LeAnn Rimes became famous when she was just a teen. She rose to fame when she released her version of the Bill Mack song “Blue” at 13.

Her fellow country singers Hawkshaw Hawkins, Randy Hughes, and Cowboy Copas were also killed. Another country artist, Jack Anglin, was killed in a car accident on the way to Cline's funeral.

Cline has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she was the first woman to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1973. In 1995 she had a posthumous Grammy Award-winning for her work.
