On Tuesday, actor Sam Elliott’s wife, Katharine Ross celebrated her 79th birthday. Her daughter took to Instagram to wish her a good one.

The star's daughter, Cleo Rose posted a simple photo of herself with her mother and a group of female friends.

However, before posting the picture, Cleo Rose Elliott honored her mother, Katharine Ross, days before her birthday. In an adorable pre-birthday post the musician called the actress her best friend and rock.

Her birthday post showed her hanging out with a few friends with her mother. The group was seen smiling happily and Cleo Rose Elliott captioned the image with a cake and red heart emoji.

Ross is an actress who has starred in films like “The Graduate” as Elaine Robinson. She received a Best-Supporting-Actress Academy Award nomination for the role.

She also famously appeared in “The Stepford Wives” as Joanna Eberhart who exposes the creepy perfect domestic wives. In 2017, she starred alongside her husband, Sam Elliott in “The Hero.”

It was her first movie in 10 years. In the past, Cleo Rose and her mother struggled with a tumulus relationship that involved death threats, murder attempts, and restraining orders.

Ross and Elliott have been married since 1984. They first met in 1969 when the birthday girl starred in the western film “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”

At the time, Elliott had a small role and they didn't share any scenes. In 1978, they started dating after reconnecting on the set of the horror film, “The Legacy.”

The couple lives in their Malibu, California seaside ranch that they have maintained since the 1970s. Cleo Rose is their only child together and she was born on September 17, 1984.

Before marrying Elliott, Ross had been married four times to four different men.
