'We worry about what this is doing to her & the baby,' Meghan Markle's friends on the negative press

Meghan Markle's close friends come to her defense to put a stop to the extensive bullying she's under. They opened up about the truth behind Meghan's relationship with her father and the lies that were told about her.

In the midst of the bullying Meghan Markle has been recently subjected to, five of her close friends have finally spoken up to defend her. In an exclusive interview with People, they discussed how Meghan is as a person, their friendship with her that continues to thrive while she’s a royal and the truth about her relationship with her father and half-siblings.

“She’s like, ‘Dad, I’m so heartbroken. I love you. I have one father. Please stop victimizing me through the media so we can repair our relationship.”

Meghan’s close friends opted to remain anonymous for this interview to protect their private relationships. One of them is her former co-star whose main concern for speaking up is to “stand up against the global bullying we are seeing and speak the truth about our friend.”

“We worry about what this is doing to her and the baby,” she says as she reveals Meghan “silently sat back and endured the lies and untruths.”

Contrary to what many think, Meghan is in touch with her inner circle of friends. One of her close confidantes confirmed, “We’ve been to their cottage.”

She adds that what people perceive of her as a royal is not how Meghan is in her home.

“Meg cooks for herself and Harry every single day.”

“When you see her at walkabouts, when she crouches down to talk to the kids and genuinely has real conversations with people, that’s Meg."

Meghan’s friend from LA who visited her in her cottage for a couple of days while Harry was away opened up about how the Duchess personally took care of her during her stay, proving she hasn’t changed.

“In the room she made up for me, there was a candle lit by the bed, slippers and a robe. We were the only two in the house. It was our time. She made the most lovely meals. She made tea every day. It was raining and muddy outside, so the dogs got all dirty, and she’s wiping them off with towels. How much she loves her animals, how much she loves her friends, how much she loves feeding you, taking care of you — none of that has changed.”

The friends also agree that Meghan is a very supportive friend and a good listener because she is genuinely interested in people. Her former co-star explains,

“When you see her at walkabouts, when she crouches down to talk to the kids and genuinely has real conversations with people, that’s Meg. That’s how she crouches down with our kids at home. That’s how she plays with them. That’s how she engages with people and how she always has.”

And as a friend who they speak to daily, Meghan is "selfless" and would often ask about them more than talk about herself.

"If I’m thrown some kind of curveball, I always think, ‘I gotta talk to Meg,’ We talk daily. And the first thing out of her mouth is, ‘How are the kids? How are you?’ I’m not even allowed to ask about her until she finds out about me.”

Even during her wedding day, her friend says she managed to exude the calmness she's known to possess.

"We could feel Meg's energy.  The calm that she moves with. That’s how it felt because that’s how she and Harry are as a couple.”

A more interesting part of the friends’ conversation with the publication was when they shared details about Meghan’s relationship with her family, particularly her father, Thomas Markle who now appears to be estranged with her.

According to them, contrary to Thomas’ public attempts at reaching out to Meghan, he never tried to reach out to her personally.

“He knows how to get in touch with her. Her telephone number hasn’t changed. He’s never called; he’s never texted. It’s super painful because Meg was always so dutiful. I think she will always feel genuinely devastated by what he’s done. And at the same time, because she’s a daughter, she has a lot of sympathy for him.”

They also revealed that even after the controversial paparazzi photos emerged, Meghan and Harry intended for Thomas to be at their wedding but he refused to take Meghan or Harry’s calls. They sent a car for him to take him to the airport but he wouldn’t get in. After he had a heart attack, Meghan tried to call and text him to tell him she loved him and that she was scared.

Thomas never got to attend the wedding due to his heart ailment and according to Meghan’s friend, she wrote him a heartfelt letter after.

“She’s like, ‘Dad, I’m so heartbroken. I love you. I have one father. Please stop victimizing me through the media so we can repair our relationship.”

Thomas wrote her a long letter in response and at the end of it requested for a photo opportunity with her.  It was the last thing Meghan wanted. She didn’t want to communicate with her father through the media. But it seemed that was all he wanted.

As for Meghan’s relationship with her siblings, her friend says there was no relationship to begin with.

“They have been made to appear as siblings who had this falling out, and that’s not the truth at all. They were not a part of her life.”

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland and Thomas were no longer together by the time Meghan was two years old. Her half-siblings were in their mid-to-late teens by then.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s friend is more appalled with her half-sister Samantha Markle who’s been maligning the duchess ever since her association with the royal family.

“Fast way forward to Meghan dating Harry, and now Samantha is going by the last name Markle after long using the name Grant. And then she began this career capitalizing on Meg. Everyone who knows Meg knows that the two of them have no relationship.”

Last week, news of Kensington Palace battling bullying cases against Meghan and Duchess Kate emerged. The bullying has become so bad that the palace has reportedly sought the help of social media companies to help fix the problem. Instagram has allegedly been contacted to help in filtering Kensington’s social media site to remove abusive comments.

Meghan and Kate have no personal social media accounts but trolls have found a way to get to them through the palace’s official website and would often pit them against each other. The attacks have ranged from racist to sexist and it’s become so rampant and difficult for the palace to control.

With Meghan’s friends finally speaking up, it’s their hope that they would see what a wonderful person she truly is and far from what the media depicts her to be.
