Longtime Idols host, Ryan Seacrest posted an adorable image of himself and his “best friend” on National Siblings Day in honor of their special relationship.

The throwback picture shows Ryan and his sister Meredith many moons ago as children as they each devoured a bowl of ice-cream around the kitchen table.

He captioned the sweet image, “My best friend who also happens to be my sister.” In shared camaraderie, Meredith soon replied, “Back when we could eat ice cream with no guilt! Haha! Love ya!”

In typical style, Ryan made a comical remark about the Jim Beam and other liquor bottles clearly visible on the kitchen counter behind the two in the picture. “And back when mom and dad had an open bar.”

When Ryan announced his sister’s pregnancy on live television in June 2018 he positively beamed with pride.

“Before we do anything else, I’ve kept a secret and I’m nervous. Do you know how hard it is to keep a secret? Ryan asked the viewers before he elaborated, “My sister called me and said ‘Can you sit down?’ and I said ‘Yes, is everything OK?’ And she said ‘I’m pregnant!’”

He announced the arrival of his sister’s daughter the same way. On December 11, Ryan announced on-air that he became an uncle to 8 pounds and 1 ounce Flora Marie Leach born on December 10 in Nashville.

Uncle Ryan, already infatuated with little Flora Marie, described her adorable chubby cheeks and joked about a conversation he had with Meredith after Flora’s birth.“She’s like, ‘Dude, birthing is tough,’” he said.

Another comical response followed the popular question of which of her parents Flora resembles most, “Based on the photograph, she looks like a baby,” Ryan quipped.

Although six years apart in age, they are close, and while “everything that happens” in their family is “a huge deal,” one event in particular probably sums it up best.

Meredith married TOMS senior executive Jimmy Leach on November 6, 2016, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and Ryan was the Man of Honor.

When Ryan announced he would be Man of Honor, he said, “I have a role in my sister’s wedding…just shed a tear. Love u @mereseacrest.” A poem wherein Meredith asked him to become her best man then followed:

“You’ve been by my side all of my life and I wouldn’t want you anywhere else when I become a wife. I’m so lucky to have you as a brother, and couldn’t imagine celebrating with anyone other. So basically what I’m trying to say… Will you be my Man of Honor on my special day?!”

No wonder Ryan took advantage of National Siblings Day to celebrate this special bond he shares with his sister Meredith.

However, Ryan gave "Idols" fans quite the scare a few days ago when he made "Idols" history in temporarily handing over hosting duties to Bobby Bones. On Monday night’s episode, 39-year-old Bobby gave more information in an exclusive clip.

“I am not Ryan Seacrest,” he said. “I am Bobby Bones. Sadly, Ryan is sick and I look most like him so they asked me to fill his shoes tonight. Ryan, love you, buddy, hope you get better.”

With Ryan being ill at the time, Kelly Ripa got her husband Mark Consuelos in to help co-host her and Ryan’s show "Live With Kelly And Ryan" while he recovers, and the results were hilarious!
