Just weeks after her niece passed away, Evelyn Braxton remembers her on her birthday. Lauren Braxton would have been 25 if she didn't succumb to a heart condition.
It’s been a couple of weeks since the Braxtons lost a family member and during what would have been her birthday, matriarch Evelyn Braxton celebrated with a tributary post.
24-year-old Lauren Braxton was pronounced dead shortly after she collapsed on the kitchen floor on April 29. She was suffering a heart condition that took her life that fateful day.
Lauren is the niece of Toni Braxton and the daughter of her only brother, Michael Braxton. Her death was a big blow to the family being their first close relative to depart this world.
“I miss you so much, but I know you are already happy there."
LoLo, as she was fondly called would have turned 25 last week and Evelyn made sure to celebrate her birthday through pleasant thoughts about her.
On her Instagram, Evelyn shared a sweet photo of her and Lauren sharing a hug followed by another of a young Lauren on her high chair eating cake. The third photo was one of the young woman’s more recent images from her social media.
“Thinking of you on this birthday of yours…” Evelyn began to caption the series of snaps.
“I miss you so much, but I know you are already happy there and that thought makes me feel better, Happy Birthday Lauren MomMoms Loves You so much.”
Lauren, who was all about family, left behind a son who just turned one a few days before she passed away.
When Lauren died, her family members mourned her loss. Among those who expressed their shock and heartbreak on social media were her aunts Toni, Trina, and Traci Braxton.
Lauren, who was all about family, left behind a son who just turned one a few days before she passed away. Her Instagram is a testament to how much she adored him. Her last post was a birthday greeting featuring a photo of the young boy.
She also adored her grandmother Evelyn who would also often be featured on her page. She would speak of their good looks using the hashtag #LookAtGood, the same one Evelyn used in her recent birthday post for Lauren.
“We all turned up for u yesterday and sent wishes for u with balloons in the sky!"
But it wasn’t only Evelyn who remembered Lauren on her birthday. Tamar Braxton also took to her Instagram to wish Lauren a happy 25th.
“We all turned up for u yesterday and sent wishes for u with balloons in the sky!” she wrote.
Tamar was previously slammed for suggesting she wasn’t going to attend her niece’s funeral due to exhaustion. In an Instagram Live video, she said she didn't have time to go. Fans criticized her for her lack of sympathy and she retaliated by asking people not to judge others for how they choose to grieve.
Tamar attended the funeral anyway.
