How Peabo Bryson's Wife Saved His Life When He Had a Heart Attack (Video)
Following his heart attack episode, Peabo Bryson is crediting his wife Tanya Boniface Bryson for saving his life and posts a video of her explaining how she handled the scary situation.
The soul legend suffered a heart attack last month and up until a few days ago, was receiving treatment at the hospital.
Since his health has been stable, however, Peabo, 68, has been thanking everyone who was there for him during the difficult time, including his fans, first responders, and now, his wife.
'When I called 911, it rang a couple of times and I was just waiting because I didn’t know what was wrong; I really didn’t.'
Alongside an Instagram video of Tanya speaking to reporters, the “Beauty and the Beast” hitmaker described his wife as a “shero.”
“This woman saved my life!” he added in the caption. “I will be sharing my story in detail with you, my fans. Why am I sharing with you, because you (my fans and friends) respected my family wishes during this time, and you prayed!!!”
“When I called 911, it rang a couple of times and I was just waiting because I didn’t know what was wrong; I really didn’t. When I heard [the 911 dispatcher’s] voice and got the address through so he could send the ambulance, he guided me through what I needed to do. He just made it very clear very quickly that ‘ma’am you may need to give him CPR,’ and in that moment I knew the validity of the situation.”
Fortunately, Peabo made it to the hospital, and his health began to improve in no time. His rep made that clear in a health update provided earlier this month.
'...When you do, the life that you had before is not the life that you have now'
“We are happy to report that Double Grammy/Double Oscar Award-winning balladeer, Peabo Bryson, is on his way to making a full recovery!” the statement read partly. “Mr. Bryson is still listed in stable condition and is improving, rapidly.”
Following his release from the hospital, the “A Whole New World” singer has also paid a visit to the first responders who came to his aid.
“Here I am, thanks to you guys,” Peabo told them in a press release published by ESSENCE.
“You don’t know that you’re going to survive anything like this, but when you do, the life that you had before is not the life that you have now. There is so much to be grateful for and I’ve learned to believe in the concept of second-hand grace.”
It’s good to see that the legendary Peabo Bryson is doing well and that he’s even managed to make the most of the unfortunate incident.
