Meghan Markle will not only be the first member of the royal family but also the first person to co-edit a British Vogue magazine as she honors a slew of incredible women — and you, the reader.

The Duchess of Sussex worked with Vogue for the September 2019 issue entitled "Forces for Change" which will feature several amazing women and focus on the positive impacts they've made throughout the world.

Markle, 37, won't be on the cover herself, but her work in the magazine is monumental. She joined editor-in-chief Edward Enninful to create the issue. A shot of the cover can be found below.

According to the magazine's website, the collaboration between the duchess and Enninful started back in January. The duchess called the seven months of their work together "rewarding."

She also highlighted the fact that they took "the year’s most-read fashion issue and [steered] its focus to the values, causes and people making impact in the world today."

She added:

“Through this lens I hope you’ll feel the strength of the collective in the diverse selection of women chosen for the cover as well as the team of support I called upon within the issue to help bring this to light. I hope readers feel as inspired as I do, by the ‘Forces for Change’ they’ll find within these pages.”

Included in the cover is actor Jane Fonda, actor, producer and advocate Salma Hayek Pinault, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, actor and producer Laverne Cox, and climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Others featured on the cover are Adwoa Aboah, Adut Akech, Ramla Ali, Sinead Burke, Gemma Chan, Francesca Hayward, Jameela Jamil, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Yara Shahidi, and Christy Turlington.

All the women have in one way or another contributed something in the area of "politics, sport, and the arts." Within the piece, Markle shared an interview she conducted with Michelle Obama, as well as an exchange her husband Prince Harry had with renowned ethologist Dr. Jane Goodall.

Of the 16 squares on the cover, one was left blank to signify a reflective mirror in hopes that readers understand that they "are part of this extraordinary moment in time." It is also meant to encourage them to make changes in whatever way they can.

The duchess shared the news to her official Instagram account where she included a signed message at the end thanking friends who helped her, the women who agreed to be on the cover, and Enninful for the "wonderful opportunity."

Markle's work on the magazine comes after some writing experience that came in the form of her old blog called "The Tig" where she posted lifestyle articles. Of course, the site was shutdown two years ago.

Along with her blog, the duchess also shutdown all her personal social media accounts after getting married to Prince Harry, as per royal protocol. The move also ensured better security for the popular royal.

In comparison to a social media platform which focuses greatly on where someone is at a given time, Markle's exclusive Vogue contribution will place attention on others and not just herself. The Vogue issue is set to be released on August 2.
