Reba McEntire revealed how she feels about Kelly Clarkson getting married to her former stepson during an appearance on "The Kelly Clarkson Show."

Over the weekend, Kelly Clarkson had her ex-mother-in-law, Reba McEntire, as a guest on "The Kelly Clarkson Show."

The two spoke on everything from the younger woman's marriage to McEntire's stepson, Brandon Blackstock, to what the older woman wants to do next in her career.

After Clarkson commented on how weird and awkward it is to interview friends and family members, she told her guest,

"I ended up marrying your oldest son, and you got stuck with me."

McEntire responded to the words with a hearty, "Thank goodness," showing how pleased she is that the former "American Idol" contestant is part of her family.

The women's relationship dates back to before Clarkson met Blackstock

The queen of country music joined the audience in applauding Clarkson's marriage to Blackstock.

Clarkson also gushed about how much she idolizes her ex-mother-in-law's life and career, citing her accomplishments as a successful country singer, Broadway, movie, and animated film actress, and as a businesswoman.

"You've done everything you could possibly want to do,"

And McEntire responded that she wants to do an original western movie or TV series because she loves westerns.

The women's relationship dates back to before Clarkson met Blackstock, the son of Narvel Blackstock, a guitarist, and McEntire's husband from '89 to 2015.

The country singers performed a duet of "The Voice," judge's single, "Because of You," in 2007, and by 2008, they toured North America together.

The two have a close relationship despite the older woman's divorce from the Texas native's father-in-law. They are fans of each other's work, and Clarkson used to ask her ex-mother-in-law for advice on her career.

Despite the closeness, the Grammy winner and the Broadway star barely see each other these days due to work commitments, and McEntire once said in an interview,

"We don't get to see each other as we used to, and I hate that."

Clarkson got married to Blackstock in 2013, at the Blackberry Farms, Tennessee. In a Twitter post at the time, the singer described the venue as,

"The most beautiful place ever,"

And proudly announced that she's "Officially Mrs. Blackstock." No matter the distance, Clarkson, and McEntire continue to see themselves as family.
