Tisha Campbell is opening up about how the death of "Martin" co-star Thomas "Tommy" Ford helped reunite the cast of the popular 90s sitcom. The TV star couldn’t hide her sadness at how things panned out.
"Martin" was one of the most popular TV shows in the 90s, but things turned sour with rumors of conflict between the lead actors Martin Lawrence and Campbell.

In a new episode of TV One's "Uncensored," Campbell recalled the impact Tommy’s death had on her. "You know, when we recently lost Tommy -- that was a blow to all of us!" she admitted.
Lawrence, 54, agreed with his former co-star, describing Tommy as "the glue" among them who was "always positive, keeping us together, always funny, never negative."
Campbell recalled teaming up with another co-star Tichina Arnold, to play pranks on Tommy while filming "Martin." "We would tease him, and he would be so mad at us," she said.
Campbell, 50, added:
"When he left us, I had just spoken to him. He brought us back together, sadly, at his funeral. And that’s where, you know, you go ‘Let’s heal. Let’s all keep in touch. Let’s not let all this time go by.'"
Tommy died on October 12, 2016, of a stomach aneurysm, according to Entertainment Weekly. On "Martin," the late actor played Tommy Strawn, a comic character known to always offer advice despite not having a job of his own.
"Tommy was not only a great costar, but he was a great man and friend," Lawrence said in a statement to EW at the time. "I am sad the world lost a great talent and that I lost a wonderful friend. God bless him and his family."
Many Hollywood celebrities, including Vivica A. Fox, LL Cool J, Steve Harvey, Ced the Entertainer, Missy Elliott, and Tiny Harris, also paid tribute to Tommy’s memory in heartbreaking social media posts.
As Campbell revealed, the "Martin" cast did reunite at Tommy’s funeral, as shown in a picture shared by Arnold at the time.

Arnold – who played Pamela James – posed for a photo with Campbell and co-star Carl Payne. The actress also seemed to imply in the caption that there was no beef with Lawrence, adding: "And PLEASE don't ask ‘Where's Martin?’ he was there too...just not in this picture."
While Campbell appears to have mended her relationship with the "Martin" cast, the same cannot be said for her marriage of over two decades.
The actress and her estranged husband Duane Martin have been going back and forth on a messy divorce, and about a week ago, she proudly shared that she was moving out of the family home.

In a video showing the house and her moving truck, Campbell said:
"One time, this person asked me, 'This house is beautiful. What more could you want?' And I said, 'Happiness.' I'm free. I don’t live here no more. I am free, y'all. I'm so happy."
Campbell and Martin, 54, tied the knot in 1996 and share two sons.
