The music star shared a photo that got captured in a way that showed the newborn's hair, but not his face. The baby appeared to be sleeping on a bed, and two stuffed animals lay on opposite sides of Patch. Gushing with excitement, Phillips wrote in the caption,
"[On] Sunday morning, our little boy made a fast entrance into the world. I cried more than he did."
"Hannah was an absolute rock star in delivery, and she has been such an amazing mom these last four days."

The new dad went on to write that he will always be in love with his son, whom he can't take his eyes off, and described him as "Perfect." He concluded with,
"Our prayers were answered, and this new journey has begun. Welcome, Patch Shepherd Phillips."
The "Gone, Gone, Gone" singer's followers congratulated him, with fellow "American Idol" alum, Kris Allen, writing,
"Congrats! That's a great name."
The season 11 winner of "American Idol" revealed he and Blackwell were expecting in July. At the time, the Georgia native shared on Instagram a photo of him and his wife of four years, with a onesie that had "Gentleman" written on it in-between them. In the accompanying caption, he wrote,
"… First comes love, then comes marriage, and then comes a baby in the carriage this Fall."
The couple met while volunteering at Mission Change, a non-profit owned by Phillips' sister. Throughout his "American Idol" run, Blackwell supported the singer, and in 2014, they got engaged on December 26th.
The new parents got married the next year at a ceremony in Resora Plantation, Albany, Georgia, and they are living happily ever after.
