Dwayne Johnson Speaks about Dad Rocky's Death with Oprah Winfrey on 2020 Wellness Tour & Says He Feels No Pain

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey recently had the fourth stop of her “2020 Vision Tour” at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. There she sat down with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson where they discussed several topics including the passing of his father Rocky “The Soul Man” Johnson.

In s short clip shared by the wrestler and actor, Winfrey asked him if he felt like he had “an angel” he could “call by name” now that his father has passed. She further questioned if Dwayne could feel Rocky “in spirit you can feel them in ways you couldn’t feel in the flesh and because there’s a density to the flesh.”

She wondered if he’d reached that level yet. The “Jumanji” The Next Level” actor responded by sharing about the experience he had the day his father passed on.

Dwayne’s new relationship with his dad

The wrestler explained that when he went to bed that night he “felt so grateful and moved.” He elaborated on how he was surrounded by energy that made him realize he now had a new relationship with “The Soul Man.”

Father and son now have a “clean slate”

Dwayne shared how he now had a “clean slate” with his father with no anger. On Instagram, the actor shared the video and captioned it noting: “Clean slate. No pain. No regret. Just us.”

He also praised Winfrey for articulating his feelings in a beautiful way. Rocky recently passed on January 15, 2020, at the age of 75.

The Soul Man’s funeral

Many celebrities, wrestlers, and fans took to social media to mourn the former star when the news came out. His funeral was held on January 21, 2020, with only around 100 people in attendance.

One of the stars who attended was legendary professional wrestler Hulk Hogan. He mourned his late friend as someone who had helped him when he was starting out in the sport.

Rocky made history in wrestling in 1983 when he won the World Tag-Team Championship with his partner Tony Atlas. They were the first Black champions in “World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).”
