Severely Ill Woman Learns Her Surgeon is Her Husband's Ex-Wife He Heartlessly Left 10 Years Ago – Story of the Day

Sarah had all the best in life until her health started to deteriorate. When she needed emergency surgery, she learned that the person who was about to do it was her husband's ex-wife whom he painfully abandoned ten years prior.

The operation lasted for seven hours. In those seven hours, Connor paced back and forth in the hospital hallway, thinking the worst. After everything they've been through with Marian, he thought she was capable of committing medical malpractice just to get back at him.

After the operation finished, Marian exited the room and approached Connor, who was trying to calm his daughter down.

"Your daughter?" she asked. When Connor nodded, she smiled.

"I also wanted to have a daughter... I thought I'd have one, actually. There was a person I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with who abandoned me with just a note," she started to say.

At that point, Connor braced himself for what Marian had to say. Before she could say anything, he ordered his daughter to buy candy from the vending machine.

"I had a chance to take revenge on you and your family today, but I did not. I realized I'm way above you on that, and I've finally found something worth doing. I was not about to ruin that for revenge," Marian said, looking Connor in the eye. He looked relieved.

"Your wife should be conscious in about 30 minutes. The operation was a success. Congratulations. In the meantime, I'll celebrate yet another successful operation alone. As I have been these past ten years because of you," she said before walking straight past him.

As she was about to exit the hospital, Gerald suddenly caught up with her. "Hi Doctor Hamilton, how are you? I just wanted to ask how the operation went," he said.

Marian responded politely, telling him that the operation was a success and that Sarah would be awake in a couple of minutes. While she was talking, Gerald couldn't help but stare at her hazel brown eyes. He was mesmerized.

After a while, they started talking about things other than the operation, and they both realized they were both attracted to one another. "Sorry for taking some of your time, Doctor Hamilton. I won't keep you any longer, I just have one last question," Gerald said.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Would you like to go to dinner with me one time?" Marian smiled at the question.

A couple of years later, Marian welcomed twin girls with Gerald. "This is more than what I could ever have dreamed of," she said to herself as she carried the two girls for the first time.

On a bittersweet day in her life years ago, she had to come face-to-face with the man who broke her heart into pieces, which led to her meeting the man who would show her what true love meant.
