For some women, having children is a dream come true. However, it can become a nightmare if something goes wrong with the pregnancy - a scary reality for Ayla Heller.

Given that there are 26,000 fetal deaths per year, Doctor Donnica Moore, a women's health expert, advised that pregnant women should always follow their intuition.

If they feel something is wrong with their unborn child, she explained they should contact medical professionals or their midwife, no matter how trivial they think the issue may be.

In 2017, a 19-year-old Ayla Heller went through a challenging incident, indecisive about calling someone to assist her, such as her midwife or doctor - wondering if she was making a big deal out of something insignificant.

NERVOUS AND UNSURE

Taking to Facebook, she shared her story about what she chose and what it led to. Heller explained that it was just a usual morning before work, penning:

"Pretty early... I had already noticed Maddy wasn't kicking around very much but had assumed she was having a less active day (which happened regularly)."

The baby was still not kicking as the day continued, but she didn't overthink it, as sometimes her little one did refrain from this activity.

PANIC ENSUES

Only when she got home later that night did she begin to worry. This was after her 23-year-old boyfriend, Dalton Henderson, pointed out that the child was still not kicking as he put his hand on her stomach.

Heller realized that there had been no kicking for a severely significant amount of time at this point. She had a bath and drank orange juice, but with still no movement, fear began to overtake her.

BAD NEWS

The panicked woman sent a message to her mom, who pushed her to call for expert assistance. So, Heller contacted her midwife, who told her to come into the labor center. Recalling the experience, she said:

"Upon arriving, I was hooked up to monitors so they could track baby's movement."

After multiple assessments, her midwife let her know that she would have to have an emergency Caesarian section and that the baby's life was in danger.

A MIRACULOUS ENDING

Fortunately, Maddy survived the ordeal which had come about because she couldn't receive oxygen in the womb. Nevertheless, if this mother had gone in the next day, the newborn could have passed away. Heller wrote:

"Things like this DO happen. You know your body and what's normal for your baby... IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS, GO IN. GO IN. GO IN. GO IN!!!"

The touching post went viral and has, so far, gathered 50,000 positive reactions, 56,000 shares, and 8000 comments.

OPENING UP

Out of these comments, the vast majority of them were loving and kind. Many shared happy and sad stories related to Heller's anecdote. One stated:

"I have a co-worker whose baby passed the same way. She would have been her only daughter, and 32 had she made it. It's still so heartbreaking."

Beyond this, numerous people thanked her for sharing this information and advice, with some also expressing how glad they were that little Maddy survived and congratulating the new mom.

FINDING WHAT'S TRUE

For all parents, such as Heller and her husband, the prospect of losing one's child can be terrifying and heart-shattering.

Tragically, for one mother, Zella Price, she went through this unfathomable grief. However, she may not have had to. Price was told that her baby died after birth, but 49 years later, she found out it was a lie.

She gave birth in the 60s when the nurse on duty made a mistake, leading to Price believing that her baby had passed away. Simultaneously, the daughter, Melanie Gilmore, was adopted.

A clip was shared in 2015 of the heartstopping online reunion between biological mom and child. Eventually, they also met in person, both hugging and crying.

Although different in nature and time, Price and Heller finally managed to hold their babies in their arms - the only moment any mother could ask for.
