Kirstie Alley is an accomplished actress, producer, TV personality, and most importantly, a doting mom to two kids. However, the actress suffered miscarriages and nasty court cases with her second husband.

As a child, Kirstie Alley was full of eccentricities. She was born in Wichita and was the wildest of her siblings. Her behavior landed her in a battle with drugs, but she was fortunate to find sobriety.

During this period, she became a successful actress and found love with seasoned actor Parker Stevenson, her second husband.

The pair met when Alley received her career-defining role in "Star Trek." Two years later, they became husband and wife with intentions to expand their family.

Unfortunately, it did not happen as soon as they expected. Following an August vacation, which led to intimacy with her husband, she believed that she was pregnant three days later.

Stevenson dismissed her claim, adding that it was impossible. Barely a month after the lovers' getaway, she carried out a pregnancy test multiple times and discovered that she was pregnant.

Sadly, a few weeks later, the couple suffered a miscarriage. They realized that the fetus had died during a regular checkup at the hospital. Alley admitted that she was not far gone to feel the baby's kick. However, the loss was more mental than physical.

Despite the pain, she struggled to comfort her husband with hope. The "Cheers" alum was not ready to give up so easily; she maintained that there was a brighter future ahead. In her words:

"That was the loss we suffered. But there will be another try. There will be babies."

Stevenson responded to his wife's positive attitude, claiming that her composure fueled him with the strength to look forward. Apart from being Alley's beloved husband, Stevenson was an excellent actor from a brilliant background, even though his first choice was never entertainment.

He graduated from a prestigious school and gave up his dreams of being an architect. Instead, Stevenson focused on padding his resumè in Hollywood.

INSIDE ALLEY'S SECOND MARRIAGE TO PARKER STEVENSON

Parker Stevenson and Alley met at a restaurant in L.A in 1981. Alley found him attractive and was smitten at first glance. They began dating and eventually settled at the altar for their vows in no time.

Stevenson, who describes himself as an "easy-going" man, found Alley, his exact opposite, an outgoing and interesting woman.

This remained a glaring characteristic in their marriage. They maintained opposite views, ate and reacted differently to matters, maintained their faiths. When speaking about Alley's behavior, Stevenson claimed:

"In any social situation, Kirstie lights up the room."

Somehow, her opposite behavior was the cornerstone upon which they built the texture of their marriage. The actor believed that his partner with opposite traits would never feel bored of the marriage, and vice-versa.

Their journey to forever began in 1983, with an optimistic future as its genesis appeared "beautiful." They got through an early miscarriage and adopted their first child, William, in 1992.

Two years later, the parents added a daughter, Lillie, via adoption. What fans thought was a fairytale romance, including their complete family and a lavish lifestyle, soon headed for the rocks.

By 1996, the couple separated, and within a few months, they filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The former couple's lawyers battled it out in court while Stevenson went into hiding and failed to speak out. This led the media to write some controversial news about the couple being gay.

Alley and her ex-husband later denied the rumors, and sources revealed that Stevenson's interest lay in women. His former partner began a relationship with James Wilder, and surprisingly, she received warm wishes from the actor.

He mentioned that Alley's relationship is healthy for their kids but was refreshingly honest with his regrets. Following their fallout, Stevenson said:

"Divorce is awful! You give your word before God to commit to this marriage."

ALLEY'S LIFE AS A DOTING MOTHER TO HER KIDS

After witnessing a second failed marriage, Alley decided to focus on herself and motherhood. She appeared in incredible A-list movies and bagged a few nominations.

Alley, who won a Golden Globe and Emmy awards for her performance in "Cheers," also competed in shows like "Dancing with the Stars" and "Celebrity Big Brother."

Away from her impressive career lies her unconditional love for her offspring. The "Cheers" star has supported her family from the beginning.

In 2010, when her son made the news for getting engaged at age 17, the mother of two revealed that she was proud of the young man. She stated:

"I feel good because they're really in love... He's a good guy. He's very monogamous, and he's very sweet with her."

Despite being a two-time divorcee, Alley claimed that she is no expert on the issues of the heart but is consistently celebrating her son's progress in his relationship.

In 2016, the "Drop Dead Gorgeous" actress surprised fans with a heartwarming photo of her son and grandchild. Alley's monochrome snap included the infant resting confidently on the young father whose eyes were shut. The caption that followed read:

"When your son has a son...bliss...yes, this is my secret happy news as promised...Welcome, Waylon Tripp Parker."

She proudly talked about how thrilling being a grandmother felt that same year. The actress confessed that she was obsessed with the little human who spent three months in her home with his parents.

The "Dancing with the Stars" alum also informed his parents that she would buy a house close to them after moving from her home to keep tabs on the young man.

Alley's son remains a constant feature on her social media page; whether the post is aimed at celebrating something spectacular or not, the mother of two knows how to spark interest with her caption.

Two years after becoming a grandmother, she shared a black and white snap of her son in a casual outfit and a phone to his ears while standing in a "cell phone use prohibited" zone. Her message read:

"My sonny boy breaking the rules."

Alley's love for her daughter is also desirable. In 2014, when 20-year-old Lillie mourned her 24-year-old boyfriend, Nick Trela, her mother was her confidante.

The actress, a Scientologist, invited her close pals John Travolta and his late wife, Kelly Preston, to support the grieving lover in a tear-jerking outdoor ceremony. These days Alley lives harmoniously with her kids and has had a thriving career for decades.
