A woman wanted the best for her big family, but she struggled to care for them. Sadly, she was forced to make a heartbreaking decision that she never forgot.

Kim Harris was a mother that always put her children first. She made many sacrifices and worked hard to provide the best life for them, but it was not easy. After a string of bad relationships and broken marriages, she was left with ten children to care for.

Her youngest two kids were twins, Danielle and Dakota, born in 1995. Harris adored her babies and raised them for eight months before facing the facts—she could not financially support all of her children.

SHE LONGED FOR THE TWINS

The mother put the twins up for adoption in their best interests and opted for an open process to stay in touch with them. However, their bond and communication were difficult to maintain from a distance.

As months turned to years, she grew farther away from them but never stopped thinking about them. One of Harris's daughters saw her mother's pain and longing for Danielle and Dakota.

THE LONG-AWAITED REUNION

Stephanie could not bear to see her mom like that, so she decided to help. She searched for them online and found both siblings on Facebook before reaching out to them. They connected, and Stephanie told them more about Harris.

After the twins' 18th birthday, something incredible happened. They told Stephanie they were on their way to surprise their birth mother in a reunion that was 18 years in the making.

THE HAPPIEST TIME OF HER LIFE

In an emotional video, the twins waited outside Harris's door. The mother was speechless upon seeing Danielle and Dakota, and she immediately embraced them. Harris called it one of the best days of her life.

The twins spent time reconnecting with their mother and made special memories to hold onto. Sadly, Harris died suddenly of pancreatic cancer. Before her death, she was the happiest she had ever been because her twins were in her life.

ANOTHER MOTHER FORCED TO GIVE UP HER CHILD

Circumstances are not always ideal and can prevent parents from keeping their beloved babies. When parents give their children up for adoption, they often think about their kids and hope to see them again.

Jennie Sandoval Sanders held onto that hope for 32 years. After she fell pregnant at 16, she was forced to give up her child but kept dreaming about the day she would see her again.

OVERCOME WITH EMOTION

Finally, in 2011 she came across a post on an adoption agency's Facebook page that changed her life. Sanders's daughter, Sierra Hardaway, was looking for her mom. The pair connected and were thrilled to get to know each other.

Harris and Sanders were overcome with emotion when they reunited with their long-lost loved ones. Both families were immeasurably grateful for a chance to make up for the years spent apart.
