Arnold Schwarzenegger had a successful career before reports of his affair with the housekeeper in the guesthouse of his mansion broke. The highly scandalized dalliance ended his marriage, but the home stands just as strong. Let's take a tour inside the $11 million home.

Arnold Schwarzenegger rose from being an immigrant to becoming the face of bodybuilding, an actor, and eventually the 38th Governor of California. However, his success was marred with numerous scandals and controversies.

Before meeting his wife of 27 years, Maria Shriver, Schwarzenegger dated two women. His first love was Barbara Outland, who he started dating in 1969 and broke up with six years later. After his breakup, he started dating hairdresser Sue Moray in 1977.

Schwarzenegger and Moray preferred an open relationship, a "turn-on" for them. They dated for four years, carrying on their relationship even after Schwarzenegger met and started dating his future wife, Maria Shriver.

However, balancing two relationships was a hard nut to crack, even for a man of his caliber, and it became the genesis of a series of infidelities and deceit. He would say of his split from Outland:

"Basically, it came down to this: she was a well-balanced woman who wanted an ordinary, solid life, and I was not a well-balanced man and hated the very idea of ordinary life."

Shriver was 21 when her path first crossed Schwarzenegger's. She had attended the Robert F. Kennedy pro-celebrity tennis tournament that her aunt Ethel Kennedy was hosting and in which Schwarzenegger would be playing.

After mingling and dancing at the event, Shriver was smitten with Schwarzenegger. On the other hand, Schwarzenegger had no clue who she was or why she was there.

They began dating shortly after, but even though they appeared to be deeply in love, Schwarzenegger carried on with his relationship with Moray for an entire year before she called things off.

In the 80s, Schwarzenegger was at the peak of his career, having released hit movies such as "Predator" and "The Terminator," and despite still being in a relationship with Shriver, infidelity claims kept following him wherever he went.

All these rumors reached Shriver, so when Schwarzenegger thought it was about time he proposed, Shriver was, at first, turned off by his offers and declined his proposals twice. However, the third time was a charm for the actor.

In August 1985, the duo visited the "Commando" actor's hometown in Thal, Austria, and asked her to marry him for the third time. Skeptical, Shriver asked, as Nicki Swift reports:

"Hey, Arnold, what's so special about today? Have I been especially good lately? Have I gotten really beautiful?"

Despite the skepticism and suspicions against him, she accepted the proposal, and the pair married in April 1986 at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Hyannis, Massachusetts in April 1986.

Three years after the wedding, they welcomed their first child, Katherine Eunice, followed by Maria Aurelia in 1991, Patrick Arnold two years later, and Christopher Sargent in 1997.

A beautiful wife and four exceptional children notwithstanding, Schwarzenegger continued to have affairs with different women and constantly found himself in a web of rumors detailing his infidelities.

In the early 2000s, Schwarzenegger had a sudden career change and took a hiatus from the big silver screens. He vied for the California gubernatorial seat. And despite his wife being aware of his numerous affairs, she stood with him and supported his campaigns, saying, according to Nicki Swift:

"I wouldn't be standing here if this man weren't an A-plus human being. I wouldn't be taking my time. I wouldn't have left my job that I love. I wouldn't be doing any of this if I didn't believe in this man."

ARNOLD'S AFFAIRS AND CONFESSIONS

While filming the 1985 "Red Sonja," Schwarzenegger reportedly had an affair with his costar Brigitte Nielsen. Reports say that, while Shriver was in the states, Nielsen and Schwarzenegger traveled throughout Austria, Munich, Vienna, and Rome and even stayed at hotels together.

Following their time together, Nielsen allegedly fell in love with the actor and wanted to be his wife; an offer Schwarzenegger declined because of Shriver. He would eventually confess to the affair in 2012. And despite being one of many, it wouldn't be his last escapade.

The "Total Recall" actor also had an affair with the family housekeeper, Mildred Baena, in 1996 when his wife and children were on vacation. The fling remained a secret, but in 1997, a few days after Shriver had the couple's lastborn son, Baena also gave birth to a boy.

While that carried no suspicion, as Baena was a married woman, Shriver began having doubts once she saw the resemblance between Baena's son and her husband. She confronted her husband, but he denied any involvement with Baena. However, she would open up to Oprah, saying, according to ABC News:

"I am my own woman. I have not been, quote, "bred," to look the other way."

Nevertheless, she did not voice her suspicions at the time and waited until Schwarzenegger's term in office ended. On the other hand, Schwarzenegger had known that Joseph was his son. The resemblance was too uncanny. He would write, as ABC News reports:

"I realized there was little doubt that he was my son."

A day after his term in office ended, Shriver insisted they attend counseling sessions to help them cope with the transition from a public to private life.

However, Schwarzenegger was unprepared for what lay ahead. He wrote of the moment his life came tumbling down in "Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story," as Daily News reports:

"The minute we sat down, the therapist turned to me and said, 'Maria wanted to come here today and to ask about a child — whether you fathered a child with your housekeeper Mildred.'"

"I told the therapist, 'It's true.'" He wrote. Immediately after confessing that he was indeed Joseph's father, Schwarzenegger began to fawn, saying how much he had messed up. He told Shriver she was the "perfect wife," and he was still attracted to her.

Shriver, who had initially supported her husband through all the

, had finally had enough of his antics. Soon after his confession, she separated from him, later filing for divorce.

Until now, Schwarzenegger still claims he does not know why he cheated, but it was probably a mixture of stupidity and arrogance. He also wrote in his memoir that he still hopes to one day reunite with Shriver.

INSIDE ARNOLD AND MARIA'S HOUSE OF 27 YEARS

It is not uncommon for Hollywood stars to live lavishly, and Schwarzenegger is no exception. Since marrying Shriver, they lived in a mansion on Pacific Palisades, California, where all their children were born and where he had an affair with Baena.

The house is one of 16 secluded homes tucked away off Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles that has been home to only the high and mighty in the film and political fields.

Sitting on 1.75 acres between Rustic Canyon Creek and Will Rogers State Historic Park, the home boasts a vast 4,177 square feet of blended California and New England contemporary styles.

The 1981 mansion has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, three fireplaces, a sauna, and a spa. A sweeping wooden floor staircase connects the top and bottom floors.

The lower floor showcases a golden entry into the dining area that combines yellow hues with dark wood tones. A comfy-looking hidden bench stands just off the main entrance.

Natural light from the massive bay windows and patio doors overlooking the garden illuminate the spaces, while the outdoors is a sight to behold with its grotto-style pool.

The outdoors also feature a tennis court surrounded by eucalyptus and sycamore trees. And beyond the garden runs hiking and riding trails, an equestrian with footbridges, and a meandering creek.

ARNOLD AND MARIA'S LIFE NOW

Following their separation in 2011, the couple embarked on a divorce process that took a whole decade. It remains unclear why it took so long, as there was no custody or child support battle because their children were all adults.

After resigning as a correspondent on the NBC show Dateline after her husband announced he was running for governor, Shriver has resumed her position at NBC and now reports, supports, and advocates for women's rights.

She has also written a book, "I've Been Thinking...: Reflections Prayers and Meditations for a Meaningful Life," released in 2018. Schwarzenegger also resumed acting and has since appeared in "Maggie," "Terminator Genisys," "Aftermath," and "Terminator: Dark Fate" since his split from Shriver.

The two have kept busy with parenting in the last decade but have also maintained a close relationship. "They have a great relationship, they're very close and take care of the kids, and they see each other a lot." A mutual friend told Page Six, according to New York Post.

Schwarzenegger has since moved on and is dating physical therapist Heather Milligan, 27 years his junior. He also has a beautiful relationship with his son Joseph, and the two often hit the gym together.

As fate would have it, Joseph is the only child of the actor that took an interest in lifting weights like his father. But aside from fitness, he has also followed in his dad's acting footsteps and appeared as the school president in his first film "Bully High."
