Incredible weight loss of Roseanne Barr: how she lost 200 pounds

The actress struggled with her weight for many years and tried many different methods to shed the pounds.

Roseanne Barr, the actress who played the lead in the series Roseanne, fought against her weight demons for a long time, and unsuccessfully attempted a number of different procedures and diets in the process. 

As reported by Radar Online, at her heaviest, Barr came in at over 300 pounds. It was at that point that she decided she had had enough. 

Barr, who is now 65 years old, was so concerned by her weight in 1998 that she made the drastic decision to undergo gastric bypass surgery.

Unfortunately, the results didn't stick. She certainly lost plenty of weight initially, but she was unable to keep it off over the years, and she continued to lose and gain weight systematically.

It was only in 2011 that Barr finally made the mental commitment to losing her weight, and actually keeping it off this time around. 

According to an unnamed insider who spoke to Radar Online, Barr, who comes in at just 5' 4", became an "energy fanatic" who would religiously walk thousands of steps a day. She would also do plenty of other exercises each day. 

Aside from the exercise, Barr also took to eating much smaller portions at meal times, and would more often than not stick to vegetarian options in her diet. 

Today, Barr looks like a completely different person to the one that graced the small-screen during the majority of the 1990's.  

Not only has she lost plenty of weight, but it has also overhauled her mental health, and she is a far happier person today.
