The Weeknd has just released his latest album, and it is his first since breaking up with Selena Gomez. Just like any heartbroken singer after a heartbreak, it seems he wrote a song about his ex-lover.
'Call Out My Name' is one track that stands out from his album, clearly with lyrics about Selena.
The Weeknd, 27, shocked his fans by dropping a surprise album last March 30. It contained a song called 'Call Out My Name', which was clearly about his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, 25.
Clearly heartbroken with their split, he could be heard singing lyrics like
"We found each other, I helped you out of a broken place. You gave me comfort, but falling for you was my mistake."
Not stopping there, he seemed to have referenced Selena's 2017 kidney transplant while the two were still together.
"I said I didn't feel nothing baby, but I lied. I almost cut a piece of myself for you."
Abel teased of his new album on Instagram, showing snippets of him singing his songs. His album is now available for download on iTunes and on Spotify.
According to an insider who shared with Billboard, this project is something that takes abel back to his roots.
Fans can look forward to The Weeknd singing his new songs live as he has a couple of shows lined up at Coachella, Panorama NYC, and Lollapalooza Berlin.
