'AGT' contestant stunned the judges with his silky smooth voice during his rendition
Even though Milton Patton later made an early exit from America's Got Talent he still managed to make a lasting impression on the judges and millions of viewers.
Milton Patton, 21, has a bright future in country music. His performance of Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss' Whiskey Lullaby was enough to win over the hard-to-please AGT judges during his initial audition.
Despite his early success Patton, unfortunately, didn't progress to the final rounds, but that hasn't stopped him pursuing his dream of one day performing in front of full stadiums.
After Patton finished performing his initial audition, "put him through' rang through the auditorium as the crowd urged the judges to send him to the next round, Country Music Family reported.
Taking it all in Patton was overcome with tears even before the judges were able to weigh in on his stunning rendition of Paisley and Krauss' 2003 country hit.
When the judges finally got to have their say they agreed with Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel who hailed him "a superstar" and sent him through to the next round.
Patton was eventually eliminated during Las Vegas week but those who were lucky enough to witness his breathtaking performance feel that he has a bright future ahead.
His early exit has done nothing to dampen his enthusiasm for country music. Two years since his appearance on America's Got Talent Patton can still be found performing shows around the country.
He shows no signs of giving up his dream to become a country music success and is willing to work hard to make his dreams come true.
Patton summed it up best after his America's Got Talent performance: "I worked hard to get to where I’m at, and I’m not gonna stop.”
It's not unprecedented for country singers to get their start on reality TV shows, with performers like Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler cutting their teeth under the brutal lights of reality TV stages before going on to carve out successful careers in the industry.
Hopefully, Patton will be able to follow in their footsteps and use his reality TV experience to make his dream of country music stardom a reality.
