Ellen Pompeo lashes out at Roseanne: 'She is exactly who we thought she was'

Ellen Pompeo, actress and producer on Grey's Anatomy, came to public to say that Roseanne Barr should have never gotten a second chance on television.

On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, Pompeo shared her opinion with fans and followers on Twitter, and claimed that the 'teaching moment' Valerie Jarrett talked about should begin 'when someone shows you who they are.'

To the Grey's Anatomy actress, the ratings of Roseanne didn't mean anything, and Barr's actions, as well as words, reflect the kind of person that she is, and that Channing Dungey did well by canceling the show.

Pompeo was honest and straightforward with her opinion concerning the recent controversial tweet, which has since been deleted, shared by Barr on Wednesday morning.

In the post, the Roseanne actress referred to Jarrett, who was born in Iran, as the result of a crossover between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Planet of the Apes franchise.

Jarrett, former Director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2017, responded to the attack by calling it a 'teaching moment.'

The 61-year-old took Barr's aggressive and racist words as an example of the racism that is flooding, not only America, but the world, and stated that she was only able to overcome the negativity thanks to her circle of friends and followers.

Barr used to be considered one of the groundbreaking leaders for women in the entertainment industry due to her defiance of many television norms, particularly on her show.

As a producer, she had a certain level of control that was highly uncommon for an actress to have. Thanks to her importance in Grey's Anatomy, Pompeo managed to achieve that same level of power, which is why she believes that  Barr shouldn't have been given a second chance.
