Anthony Bourdain's last Instagram posts before death
Legendary chef Anthony Bourdain posted about food on his Instagram four days before he passed away.
Bourdain is known for his cooking and the way he changed the industry through his CNN show, Anthony Bourdain: Parts of the Unknown.
Four days before his passing, he shared a photo featuring what he had for lunch, which was sausage and steak.
The caption read ‘Alsace,’ a region in the eastern parts of France where he was filming what would have been the latest episode of his show.
Bourdain was found unconscious in his hotel room on June 8th in France by Eric Rupert, a world-renowned chef and his close friend.
CNN released a statement to confirm the celebrity chef’s death.
It read, ‘It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller.’
When the news of his death broke all over the world, the public, including many celebrities, took to social media to express their grief.
Rose McGowan, an actress, shared an emotional video on Twitter talking about Bourdain’s death. She also urged other people who are considering suicide to get help.
Bourdain’s colleague, CNN anchor Jake Tapper, also joined the many people who tweeted about the chef. He wrote, ‘This is so awful. He took his own life.’
Colin Trevorrow also offered his touching words for Bourdain.
The filmmaker wrote, ‘Anthony Bourdain gave so many of us the courage to walk through doors without signs, to approach a distance bonfire, to delve deeper into the worlds and cultures unlike our own.’
He continued by urging other to continue Bourdain’s legacy which was traveling the world and about being compassionate to each other.
Bourdain is survived by Ariana, his 11-year-old daughter, who he shared with his former wife, Ottavia Busia.
