Unknown to many, the actress has a younger brother who's established a name in the entertainment industry as a comedian in 'The Great Indoors' and another popular television show.
Last March, Vanessa Williams received a loving shout out from her brother Chris Williams who greeted her on her birthday. And while he praised the actress for her talent, many may not know this, but he also carved a space for himself in the entertainment industry and is now an established comedic television star.
Unlike his sister’s quick rise to fame following her controversial crowning as Miss America, Chris’ rise in the business was gradual. He began with small roles, in films like ‘The Joneses,’ ‘Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story’ and ‘Lottery Ticket’ and television shows like ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’ ‘Martin,’ ‘Californication’ and ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.’ Moving on, he bagged slightly bigger roles, one of which was his memorable portrayal of the crackhead Broadway Bill in ‘Friday After Next.’
As a result of his talent, good looks and endurance in staying the course, Chris eventually landed recurring roles in TV shows like the ‘The Great Outdoors’ and currently, ‘Silicon Valley.’ In the former, the 50-year-old portrayed Eddie, the lead character Jack’s best friend who runs a local bar and helps his friend understand his millennial co-workers. While in ‘Silicon Valley’, Chris’ character Hoover who joined the cast in the third season is the head of security at Hooli who admires Gavin Benson (played by Matt Ross) but is often disregarded by him.
As Vanessa’s younger brother, the comedian is highly supportive of her career.
In 2017, he posted a flashback video of the time he escorted his sister when she attended the Emmys as a nominee. The siblings were interviewed on the red carpet and they were definitely a good looking pair.
In 2010, he also appeared in Vanessa’s series ‘Ugly Betty’ playing a female impersonator of Vanessa’s character. Chris proved to be the perfect choice for the job with his uncanny resemblance to his sister.
