At the time, he’d also thanked his fans for honoring their privacy as they grieved. Hayes recently announced that he would resume touring, with his first show on June 29 at Rootstown, Ohio.

The Craig singer has been mostly silent on social media, but he did return to wish his wife, Laney, a happy anniversary. He also announced the launch of his Be a Craig Fund

The fund is in honor of the family friend named Craig who gave the Hayes family a van when they couldn't afford one. The friend is also the inspiration behind the new single.

‘In keeping with the sentiment of paying it forward, and through gifts to support nonprofits that empower others to make the path easier,’ the website explained. It further added that Hayes wanted to encourage individuals to seek out opportunities to help others.

The star isn’t ashamed of the time when he worked at Costco and relied on the kindness of people like his friend. He shared that those difficult times had tested them to see how bad they wanted it.

The singer revealed that his marriage and faith had been tried. He said they now looked at the world differently after their experience in Nashville.

Hayes shared that they had gone from content to financially ok, then to scary, and then financially not ok. He added that they’d learned to appreciate the little things.

Updates to his touring schedule will be posted at on his website as they become available.
