Ciara turns up the heat while twerking in bathrobe & scarf in recent video
After Ciara went on a musical hiatus for three years, she finally had her much-awaited return to the spotlight with a new single called "Level Up".
The dance-themed song came with a matching visual, which she posted on her social media accounts over the weekend prior to the single's release. According to Billboard, the title is a direct reference to one of Ciara's tweets last January that received some serious backlash after she told women to "level up" when it comes to marriage.
Ciara felt the need to post a follow-up message to explain herself, recalling the time she was "at her lowest moment" as a single mother to her first child, Future. Her new song's visuals included the Atlanta-native dancing in a seductive manner alongside members of the ReQuest Dance Crew, choreographed by Parris Goebel.
The 32-year-old sings about turning her old ways into blessings, now that she is happily-in-love and married to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson. In the song, she croons the words "my lessons, made blessings, I turned that into money. Thank God I never settled, this view is so much better. I'm chilling, I'm winning, like on another level." to an uptempo J.R. Rotem production.
While some have been going crazy over Drake's "In My Feelings" challenge, Ciara's fans have created their own version of the challenge, calling it the "Level Up Challenge", which has been garnering a lot of attention on social media. Ciara, after finding out about the new dance craze, led the way, dancing to her song in a headscarf and robe on. Her fans have since then followed suit, posting their own dancing videos on social media.
Given the power of her first single, and its empowering aura, it seems like "Level Up" is only a prelude to her upcoming album that is probably going to be released later this year.
