Kelly Ripa Shares How She Deals with Mark Consuelos' Stripper Past

Being a stripper may be a profession that is frowned upon but Kelly Ripa couldn't care less. The cheerful “Live With Kelly and Ryan” host is the wife to actor Mark Consuelos, who used to be a stripper.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Ripa confirmed that she is anything but ashamed of her husband’s history as a stripper.

When asked about how she found out about her husband’s former profession as a go-go boy, Ripa revealed that Consuelos told her about it.

The source further inquired whether her husband told her that he used to wear a banana hammock and donkey thong as a stripper.

“A lot of hot guys in Hollywood have done that. He was straight out of college, and he went to Notre Dame and finished his degree at the University of South Florida,” she replied. “So, there he was in South Florida, he’s gorgeous, looking to break into show business, so he started off as a roadie to a group of these guys, and then they talked him into stripping.”

The mom of three even revealed that she has an “old calendar pinup” of Consuelos. Now, how many women can boast about having a calendar pinup of their ultra-sexy husband?

Given his good looks and undeniable charm, one can imagine how irresistible he must have been as a go-go boy. No wonder Ripa fell head-over-heels when she first saw him!

WERE RIPA’S PARENTS CONCERNED ABOUT CONSUELOS’ PAST GIG?

According to Ripa, her parents “worship” their son-in-law.

“My husband is probably the most responsible, hard-working, diligent person I know. He is very smart and stable," she gushed.

Ripa and Consuelos first met on the set of “All My Children” where Consuelos played her onscreen lover, Mateo Santos. After a year of dating, the couple eloped in Las Vegas on May 1, 1996. They share three gorgeous children: Joaquin, Lola, and Michael.
