Robin Williams' Son Zak Remembers Father on the 7th Anniversary of His Death in Touching Tribute – Inside Actor's 'Devastating' Final Days

Hollywood icon Robin Williams' fans were reminded of his legacy in a new media upload from his son Zak Williams. Zak's soulful tribute came on the heels of the 7th anniversary of Robin's passing.

It's been seven years since iconic comedian Robin Williams succumbed to the effects of an illness and passed on. His son, Zak Williams, paid tribute to him in a new Twitter post.

Zak warmly remembered his energetic father and the actor's enthusiastic approach to daily living. Zak wrote of Robin's legacy and how his impact would remain unforgettable.

ZAK'S HEARTWARMING TRIBUTE

In the post, Zak mentioned that it had been seven years since the world bade his superstar dad farewell. He sweetly reminisced on how Robin's life radiated "joy and inspiration."

The 38-year-old shared that the two attributes were Robin's impact on his loved ones and fans worldwide. Zak wrote that his father "lived to bring laughter and to help others."

[Robin's] wife, Susan Schneider, and some pals opened up about how the actor navigated his life in the last days.

The PYM CEO added that his day would be spent celebrating his dad's great legacy and history-making memories. Zak ended his post with a reminder of how much he loved his late dad.

ZAK ON ROBIN'S HEALTH STRUGGLES

A few weeks ago, Zak shared an interview in commemoration of what would have been Robin's 70th birthday. He sat down with Max Lugavere on "The Genius Life" podcast.

Towards the last years of his life, Robin struggled with Lewy body dementia. However, the "Jumanji" star was misdiagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Zak noted that he watched his father go through the symptoms and knew he saw "frustration."

Robin struggled to focus as he experienced a decline in body control, which greatly affected his acting career. Zak added that there was an issue with his dad's neurological wellbeing.

Following Robin's death in 2014, Zak found out that his father had actually suffered Lewy body dementia. His father's death greatly affected and Zak found solace in alcohol. It's safe to say that these days, he is in a better place.

ZELDA'S REACTION TO TROLLS

Zak is an only child, and he was born during Robin’s marriage to his mom Valeri Velardi. Robin’s other children, Zelda, 32, and Cody, 29, are from his second marriage to Marsha Grace.

Zak's half-sister, Zelda Williams, also celebrated her dad's legacy in her own way. However, Zelda was not having it after a critic pointed out that Zak left out details of their dad's death.

She called out the faux pas noting that people should learn to leave others and allow them to grieve their loved ones in the way they deemed fit. During Robin's posthumous birthday celebration, she thanked fans for celebrating him.

ROBIN'S FINAL DAYS

In a new documentary, "Robin's Wish," the "Aladdin" actor's wife, Susan Schneider, and some pals opened up about how the actor navigated his life in the last days.

The late comedian's wife shared that she watched her husband's brain health deteriorate. She noted that Robin knew it too and would often launch into a fit about what was happening to him.

Susan, who is Robin's third wife, met him in an Apple store in 2007. A few weeks before he died, she revealed that Robin had surprised her with flowers at the same store where they met to remind her it was where their love started.

The 57-year-old stated that there were sweet moments as such when her late husband would remember important details. However, there were times he would experience panic attacks about not remembering his lines while filming.

Robin went through the intense symptoms of Lewy body dementia for six months before committing suicide in August 2014. An autopsy after his death confirmed the real state of his health. The Oscar winner passed on at 63.
