HOW DID LISA OZ MEET MEHMET OZ?

Lisa was a sophomore at Bryn Mawr College when her parents, Emily Jane and Dr. Gerald Lemole, introduced her to Dr. Oz, who was then studying in medical school.

The Turkish-American celebrity physician and Lisa met with their parents over dinner. Dr. Oz quipped that it looked like an arranged marriage since it was all set up by their parents.

Lisa and Dr. Oz, however, did not immediately connect. Lisa recalled that her husband did not interact with her the whole time they had dinner, although he did start a conversation with her mother.

However, Dr. Oz soon clarified that his lack of interaction with Lisa was intentional. He explained that if he could start a conversation with Lisa's mother, he could convince her to date him.

After barely engaging with Lisa over their parents' dinner, Dr. Oz called her and asked her out on a date. Despite Lisa's demands before their date, he's drawn to her openness.

He ran after her, and when he finally caught up to her, he asked her to marry him while presenting her with the tab off an aluminum can he had found on the street. Lisa said yes.
