Jack Neville Lando was actor Joe Lando's first child, born when his popularity was at an all-time high. Being a celebrity parent, Joe was determined to shield his son from the public's attention.

He and his wife, Kirsten Barlow, made an important decision when their first child was born, one that would shape Joe Lando's son's childhood and his future.

Jack Neville Lando was born on June 3, 1998, the son of actor Joe Lando and Kirsten Barlow. The couple had married in 1997, and Jack was their first child. Joe's breakthrough role came in 1993 with the TV series "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman."

He co-starred with British actress Jane Seymour, and his role as Byron Sully made the actor a fan favorite. The two actors would go on to have a romance before he married Barlow, and he didn't invite Seymour to the wedding.

Joe revealed that the children sometimes watched reruns of his most famous role as the mountain man Sully in "Dr.Quinn, Medicine Woman."

The series had ended just months before Jack was born, and the couple decided to separate the actor's professional life from the family to allow their children to grow up in a normal environment.

The Thought of Jack Neville Lando Interacting with Fans Unsettled His Dad

Joe revealed that when Jack was small, the attention of the fans who recognized him upset him and made him fear for his child, especially people who'd show up at the family home. He revealed:

"It's happened before with the kids when they were much younger. It's a little unsettling when you start to think about it. I’m sure they're nice, harmless people, but they're strangers showing up at my doorstep."

Jack is now a grown man and lives quietly. His father has ensured he had a chance to grow up without the glare of being a celebrity kid. Jack and his siblings became aware of their father's celebrity as they grew up.

Joe revealed that the children sometimes watched reruns of his most famous role as the mountain man Sully in "Dr.Quinn, Medicine Woman." None of the Lando children seem to have followed in dad's footsteps into acting.

In 2020, Joe teamed up with "Dr. Quinn" alum Jane Seymour again for the movie "Friendsgiving." After many years, the two co-stars are now good friends. Fans can see Joe Lando in the forthcoming film, "Night Train."
