Kaylee Hartung Is A Reporter Based In Los Angeles

Hartung, who recently turned 38 on November 7, 2023, grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated high school from the Episcopal School of Baton Rouge and attended college at Washington & Lee University, where she earned her journalism degree in 2007.

She launched her journalism career with CBS News, and now, she is a reporter for Thursday Night Football. The Los Angeles-based journalist contributes to NBC News and the "Today" Show, where she shares the screen with Hoda Kotb and Samantha Guthrie.

Kaylee Hartung Opens Up About Her Fertility Journey

Hartung keeps much of her personal life and romantic relationships under wraps. However, she confirmed her status in an Instagram post in 2021, where she shared her experience freezing her eggs, highlighting herself being "clinically single." She added:

"But as I turned 35 in a year when so much seemed to be out of our control, I decided there would be no better time to get serious with myself and make a plan. I was fortunate enough to be able to control this."

Hartung reflected on her early expectations of mirroring her mother's path by becoming a parent at 25. While she has the desire to become a future parent, she has also emphasized to her bosses that her job is her top priority.

After surviving COVID-19 in 2020, Hartung went the extra mile by donating plasma to help those in need during the pandemic.

She mentioned in a 2022 interview that she had an ex-boyfriend, but she has not hinted at any romantic relationships on her social media. While she doesn't have a family of her own, Hartung enjoys her role as an aunt to her niece, Natalie.

Kaylee Hartung's Resilience And Generosity

Hartung has been candid about her childhood trauma when she witnessed her father's plane crash during an air show. Her dad was an aviator and businessman who flew WWII fighter planes in aerial exhibitions worldwide.

She also recalled that her father was "incredibly talented" in his profession. Despite his untimely passing, she continues to honor her dad on his birthday and expresses her deep sense of missing him.

Hartung has formed close bonds with her mother and grandmother, who have supported her career throughout. A memorable moment was attending Jennifer Lopez's concert and celebrating special occasions in New York City.

Aside from her career and family, she has shown her heart for helping others. After surviving COVID-19 in 2020, Hartung went the extra mile by donating plasma to help those in need during the pandemic.

Her generous act proved impactful, with her plasma ultimately saving a man's life. "It was impossible to hold back the tears of joy and incredibly hard for me to find words to express what this all meant to me. It was a day I'll never forget," she said.
