According to Country Music Nation, Darius Rucker enlisted international pop sensation Adele to join him and sing a world-renowned hit.

The same outlet revealed that they sang a song of Lady Antebellum, the chart-topping single, “Need You Now," in an unforgettable act.

Adele's powerful voice was the perfect match for Rucker’s deep southern vocals, which are made for a sultry duet full of soul and passion.

Adele's fiercely passionate approach made the country group’s emotional ballad an amazing performance and left Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott drenched in tears.

The performance came about as part of the 2010 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony, honoring the most renowned names in country music in celebration of all their yearly accomplishments.

Adele has a deep connection with “Need You Now,” as she credits that song as the inspiration behind her emotional ballad, “Don’t You Remember.”

“It’s got quite a country tinge to it. What gave me the courage to try to do that musically was ‘Need You Now.' You could not even change your radio station without it being played. You couldn’t escape it and, luckily, I loved it!" Adele said.

Adele also used “Need You Now” as the root for her new approach to music, guiding the song’s storyline of exes wishing to reunite with a former lover into her songs.

“Unlike my first record, when I was writing how ‘your life is going to suck without me and I’ll be fine,’ you know, it suddenly dawned on me that my ex was actually pretty incredible," she added.

She wanted to write a song about how it was such a shame that they fell out of love, as she thinks it would be a "perfect subject," claiming that this emotion could be in a country song.

Adele then goes on to discuss her admiration for the foundation country music is built on and its direct approach to life. The singer went to explain that she likes that country music isn’t “fussy” or trend-seeking.
