The beloved actor shared some painful memories with his fans through social media and explained his connection with depression.
Dwayne Johnson, commonly known as The Rock, was recently filming a scene for his HBO show, Ballers, in a cemetery.
According to Shared, the setting reminded the star of a particularly scary moment from his childhood, which he later shared with his fans.
The wrestling start admitted being affected by suicidal tendencies of his own mother through a long and emotional Instagram post.
The actor claimed that the struggle and pain are real issues, adding that everyone has been there on some level or another.
Johson shared a painful story about his own mother, who tried to kill herself, when he was only fifteen years old, by walking into oncoming traffic.
His mother got out of the car on Interstate 65, in Nashville, and walked into oncoming traffic, almost causing accidents between cars and trucks, which were swerving out of the way not to hit her.
Although he was shocked at the moment, he managed to grab her, pulling her back on the gravel shoulder of the road.
'What’s crazy about that suicide attempt is to this day, she has no recollection of it whatsoever. Probably best she doesn’t,' he wrote.
The actor then explained that it's important to always do our best to really pay attention when people are in pain, encouraging them to talk about the struggle and reminding them that they’re not alone.
The actor also revealed that he had to battle depression himself at some point when he replied to a comment on the same post.
