These exercises take no more than ten minutes, require no equipment, and can help improve overall health, strength, mobility, balance, and pain.

The bridge is the number one of these exercises, as it strengthens the whole abdominal region, the lower back, and the glutes.

The straight leg drop core exercise targets the transverse abdominal muscles and the obliques, which can alleviate lower back pain.

The front toe drop core abdominal exercise requires focussing on the breath and rhythm, as it creates a stronger lower back and better mobility in the hip joint.

The side knee drop core exercise focuses mostly on abdominal muscles with a special attention on the obliques, creating an injury-free physique.

The hip circle core exercise requires focussing on breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth while contracting the whole abdominal wall.

The four-point balance exercise works on strengthening abdominal muscles and improving balance, causing a better posture.

The owner of Strength & Performance Training, Inc., who's also a well-renowned personal trainer, explained that core muscles should be a priority in anybody's periodization scheme.

"If you’re going to prioritize different areas of the body, the core would be number one because everything else branches off from that," he said.

It's important to periodize properly to obtain a great physique, but with the correct focus, anyone can do it. Just start with these simple variations and enjoy a better quality of life.
