Magic Johnson's 'lowkey' son showed love & support in post after sister shaved her head

Earvin “Magic” Johnson’s family is conversant with struggles arising from self-identity and discovery; just ask Magic's gay son, EJ. This time, however, it is the basketball legend’s daughter Elisa, who is making moves and earning her rarely-seen brother’s admiration in the process.

Elisa Johnson shared a photo of her new haircut on Instagram, along with a thoughtful caption:

“Snip snip. Last night I contemplated whether or not I wanted to share my personal journey with Instagram, but then I thought what the heck. SO inspired by all the powerful women who do not let HAIR define who they are...I love the woman I am, and I encourage everyone to try and conquer their own personal insecurities, and rather than letting these insecurities define us, take the power away from them. #fallinlovewithyourselfFIRST.”

The 23-year-old is pictured wearing an off-the-shoulder top that leaves her shoulders and upper arms bare. A couple of tattoos are also visible as she tilts her head sideways and stares soulfully at the camera.

Elisa got a lot of fan compliments for her decision and her rarely-seen brother, Andre Johnson, reposted the picture on his Instagram page. He also left his baby sister an inspiring message:

“Your courage to be who you truly are always inspires me. Love you Gur!!! #proudbrother.”

Contrary to what many think, EJ Johnson is not Magic’s first child. Andre was born in 1981 to Magic and his girlfriend at the time, Melissa Mitchell. He isn’t as famous as his younger brother because he was mostly raised by his mom who kept a low profile.

He became close to his father as a grown-up, and the two have gone on to do business together. Andre was once the Vice-president of Magic Johnson enterprises but eventually moved on to start up his enterprise.

Back in 2016, Andre was thrust into the public eye when his shirtless pictures hit the internet. He was pictured with his NBA legend dad, but the ladies more interested in the married father of one.

Before working for his dad, Andre had also built a name for himself as an Artist Rep, working with big names like Jay-Z and Missy Elliot.
