Aretha Franklin's fans decorate her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and take pics of it
Fans paid tribute to Aretha Franklin after they learned that she had passed away following a long battle with cancer by offering flowers on the singer’s Walk of Fame star.
Franklin’s avid supporters decorated her Hollywood Walk of Fame star with bouquets of flowers and a crown fit for the Queen of Soul.
The singer passed away on August 16, 2018, at the age of 76 due to advanced pancreatic cancer.

Aside from Franklin’s Walk of Fame star, the Apollo Theater in New York made efforts to pay tribute to the soul singer by changing their marquee in dedication to her.
Fans put out notes, flowers, and other tokens to honor Franklin.
It has long been speculated that Franklin’s health was deteriorating. She passed away at 9:50 a.m. at her home in Detroit surrounded by her family and close friends.
She had been under hospice care for months before she passed.
As for the family, the released a statement, which read, “In one of the darkest moments of our lives, we are not able to find the appropriate words to express the pain in our heart. We have lost the matriarch and rock of our family.”
The family also acknowledged the fans and thanked them for their undying support for the soul singer.
“We have felt your love for Aretha and it brings us comfort to know that her legacy will live on. As we grieve, we ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time,” said the family in the statement.
For 50 years, Franklin has been an icon in the music industry, having recorded more than a hundred songs. Throughout her music career, she managed to have 20 songs to reach number one on the R&B charts.
The singer not only won 18 Grammy awards, but she was also the first woman ever to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
Franklin had left a legacy that will forever be remembered by many. Her life was filled with many memorable moments that will forever remain in history.
