Jennifer Lopez was at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards to accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on the 21st of August 2018.

The 49-year-old mega-star dazzled the press and her fans in a stunning shimmering gold jumpsuit with matching sneakers reported ET Online

Her acceptance speech revealed that she had grown up with MTV and that being honored by an award was one of her greatest dreams.

"It has been an incredible journey of dreaming my wildest dreams and then watching them come true."

She spoke of the hard work that had brought her to that moment, the complete focus on her career that had obsessed her for years.

She said that her life was transformed by the birth of her children, the twins she shares with singer Marc Anthony - Max, and Emme.

Lopez also thanked her parents, describing her mother, Lupe, as the "original dancing queen."

She went on to praise her sisters and her father for their support - and lastly, she thanked her fiancee Alex Rodriguez who she called her "twin soul."
