Toni Braxton's son suffered autism as a child & has grown into a handsome fashion model

Toni Braxton's son Diezel Braxton-Lewis who once suffered autism is now bringing his modeling game. Diezel was diagnosed with autism at the tender age of three but has managed to overcome the challenges of the disorder.

Toni Braxton is a singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, television personality, and philanthropist who rose to fame in the early 1990s as a popular R&B singer. She married musician Keri Lewis on April 21, 2001. She gave birth to their first child, Denim, in 2001 and their second child, Diezel, in 2003.

The young boy has come far in the past years of his life. He was diagnosed in the autism spectrum early on, and his parents enrolled him in a treatment program. Two years ago, Toni surprised, and confused fans, when she announced with joy that her son no longer suffered from the disorder.

Her statement, of course, was taken out of context by the media, and people started to claim that Toni believed her son was "cured." Autism refers to a group of brain development disorders that can include symptoms such as intellectual disability, problems with social interactions, and repetitive behaviors, among others.

While the condition cannot be cured because it is not a disease, with the proper treatment the individual can learn how to manage the symptoms so as to become a functional member of society. That was Diezel's case.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Toni expressed her happiness about watching her son growing into a "social butterfly."

"No signs of autism. No signs. He’s our social butterfly – he’s the one that plays with friends and hangs out all the time, very very fortunate. And I don’t like to think there’s anything wrong with our babies, I just think they learn differently. And he’s doing wonderful, I’m pretty proud of him."

Now, 15-year-old Diezel is an aspiring fashion model. He recently signed a contract with Wilhemina Models, one of the biggest modeling agencies in the country, and his Instagram account is filled with artistic shots of the boy showing off his best poses to the camera and rocking stylish clothes.

One of his most recent set of pics shows Diezel rocking a Burberry t-shirt and his braided hair in a messy updo. The young man's caramel skin glows under the dimmed lights, and he's so confident in his abilities that he captioned one of the pics "FUTURE BURBERRY MODEL."

Diezel has a bright future ahead of him, and Toni couldn't be prouder of her eldest son.
