A lawsuit against Tiffany Haddish filed by her ex-husband William Stewart has escalated to a higher level. Reports suggest Beyonce Knowles is a possible witness in support of Stewart’s case. According to the report by The Jasmine Brand, Beyonce may provide evidence proving Haddish’s tendency to lie.

In May, Stewart and his mother Elnora Daughtery filed a $1 million lawsuit against Haddish after she released her book, “The Last Black Unicorn” which had slanderous implications against the mother and son. Stewart claimed his wife lied when she revealed in a chapter of her book called “The Ex-Husband” that he physically abused, kidnapped and stalked her. She alleged Stewart beat her so badly that she lost their unborn child though Stewart denied this and said Haddish had an abortion. Haddish also described her ex as an abused and neglected child which led Stewart’s mother to retaliate and join her son in his lawsuit.

Haddish and Stewart were married in 2008. Their divorce was finalized in 2013. In 2011, Haddish obtained a restraining order against Stewart after a domestic dispute they had in Montreal. According to the documents the comedian submitted to obtain a restraining order, Stewart choked her in the stairway of the hotel they were staying in. She also mentioned two physical assaults that left her with bruises and a black eye. Haddish later dropped the restraining order in an attempt to reconcile with her husband.

As Stewart’s current lawsuit against his ex-wife unfolds, a new development places Knowles in the picture. According to recent documents filed by Stewart, Knowles “has knowledge of defendant Haddish’s propensity for lies and making up false stories for Ms. Haddish’s own personal aggrandizement.”

Stewart may be referring to a story Haddish recounted early this year regarding a party she attended in December where she claimed Sanaa Lathan attacked Knowles and bit her face. She also said she was ready to defend Knowles and possibly go to jail for what she was planning to do but was asked by Knowles to calm down.

Along with Knowles, Stewart also cited radio personality Charlamagne as a possible witness in his case due to her “knowledge of the public contempt and ridicule" he suffered.
