According to the Sun, Kamran Adan claimed to have worked for the London branch of McDonald’s for about a year, where he discovered that staff gave priorities to those customers who ask for payment details.

Adan explained that the chances were high of such customers being mystery shoppers, people who are paid to review and rate the store.

There are two crucial periods at McDonald’s store namely “Gapbuster Times,’ because it is during these times that covert customers visit the London-based McDonald’s outlet. These periods are generally between 12-2 pm and 5-7 pm.

Since everyone at the store wants to increase their rating, they provide the best possible service to the mystery shoppers.

Adan explained that one of the sure-shot ways of identifying the mystery shoppers was by noticing whether or not they ask for the payment receipt.

Since mystery shoppers would later want to reimburse their expenses which they incurred while dining at McDonald’s, they often ask for the payment receipt.

This is what Adan had to say about the value of sharing, “So, if you ask for a receipt in that time everyone will be immediately alert that you could be a potential gapbuster and they’ll make sure to serve you the freshest burger and fries, and give you priority over everyone else.”

“Basically between 12-2pm and 5-7pm workers have to be extra careful because that is when gapbusters (mystery shoppers), who are paid, visit McDonald’s restaurants and rate their experience,” she told Quora.

Whenever a customer asks for a receipt, the outlet automatically assumes that the first involved also works at nice.

“So, if you ask for a receipt in that time everyone will be immediately alert that you could be a potential gapbuster and they’ll make sure to serve you the freshest burger and fries, and give you priority over everyone else,” Adan further added.

Here’s another similarly informative article about why you shouldn’t leave behind your payment receipts after making expenses at a store.
