Mom who still nurses 5-year-old son brings up her kids without any discipline or restrictions

Adele Allan and her husband Matt became known for their unconventional beliefs in parenting. While Adele still breastfed her son even though he was five, she also never disciplines him and his younger sister.

The couple liked to believe they were living an “off-grid” lifestyle. Raising their children, they did not send them to school, they weren’t vaccinated, and they didn’t give them restrictions.

Adele and the rest of her family became known after their appearance on “This Morning” in 2016.

At the time, she shared about her beliefs in raising her children without following the traditional rules in parenting. She explained that she always let her five-year-old son and her one-year-old daughter do whatever they want.

Speaking with Barcroft, Adele said, “Traditional parenting methods rub me the wrong way. The cry-out method for the young babies… the baby has still got that in their DNA from when they used to be hunter-gatherers and they need to feel safe.”

In addition, Adele expressed that she only believes in treating her children naturally. For example, conjunctivitis, according to her, can be treated with the enzymes from breastmilk.

When playing at the outdoors, the couple said they don’t restrict their kids. They would sometimes see their children eating leaves from a tree, and they would do nothing.

Adele said her daughter doesn’t like to wear shoes and she lets her get away with it because the mother of two said it would “allow her to experience life better.”

A lot of people have criticized the couple for their alternative lifestyle, mainly because they fear for the safety of the kids. Still, both Adele and Matt said that they are doing what they believe is best for their children.

It went as far as some concerned citizens called social services to report Adele and Matt.

Adele admitted that social services did come into her home after their appearance on “This Morning.” She said she welcomed them into their home.

According to her, they left satisfied because her children were “happy and healthy.”
