Fantasia Barrino looks stunning in recent pics shared to her Instagram, as she flaunts her curvaceous body in a leather outfit. The singer’s confidence has increased a lot in comparison to her “American Idol” days, and she has passed down that to her teenage daughter Zion.

Fantasia Barrino knows how to captivate her fans. The star recently took to Instagram to share a pair of pics rocking a daring and out of the ordinary outfit that left her followers completely stunned.

In the pics, she is rocking a leather dress with silver details secured on her thin waist by a broad belt. She completed the look with thigh-high matching boots and sunglasses, creating an edgy outfit with a punk twist to it.

Barrino posed in front of fence wire and on top of a ladder, giving the pics and even more edgy vibe. “Never in the mix, that’s how you lose flavor. Feeling this look from @kosmios_ had to order her,” Barrino captioned one of the posts.

Fans immediately took over her comment section to gush about Fantasia and her look.

“@sultressofsavagery_34: Yes honey give it to them! I love this hairstyle on you!.”

“@tia_hairismybiz: Yes @tasiasword there is no one out here rocking it the way you do!!! No lace front rainbow bright wigs here!!!! Get it mama!!!”

“@niajeanbaptiste: You. Of the flyest females in the game. I'm loving the Crewella.”

BEING CONFIDENT WAS NOT FANTASIA’S STRONG SUIT

And while Fantasia has become a confident, sexy woman that has no shame in flaunting her figure, but always drawing the line between sexy and vulgar, the confidence game was not always easy for her.

Talking to Oprah Winfrey a few years ago, Barrino revealed that some of the troubles she faced in her teenage years derived, in part, of her lack of self-confidence and self-esteem.

“When I was a teenager, all the other girls were getting attention, but I had this skinny little body with no shape,” she said. “I thought, "Maybe if I show off some leg, the guys will look at me," so I tried to get attention with tight little dresses and miniskirts.”

A VICTIM OF RAPE

Fantasia was a victim of rape at 14. She had a crush on one of the best players of her school but thought she had no chance with him.

“One day during a game after school, I was flaunting around in an itty-bitty dress. I was flirting, and he told me, "You're going to get something you don't want." And that's exactly what happened.”

The trauma and shame she felt were such that she didn’t attend school for days, and when her mom realized something was not right, they turned the guy to authorities. But Fantasia was bullied at school, and she ended up dropping out of it.

She moved out of her house and by the time she was 17, she got pregnant.

People knew she was a talented girl, but after she had her daughter, Zion, people started to give up on her. Her grandmother and mother also got pregnant at 17, so they were disappointed that Fantasia didn’t have a different life.

DEFYING ALL ODDS

But she proved them wrong when she won “American Idol” and started a successful career that has led her to release three studio albums, star on “The Color Purple” and even sing at Aretha Franklin’s funeral with more seasoned singers.

Her daughter Zion is now a gorgeous 17-year-old, but like Barrino, little Zion went through a phase where she wanted to look like someone else because of beauty standards. “She wants to look a certain way—she wants hair or skin like somebody else at school. I say, "Zion, you're beautiful," but when my mama tried to tell me that, I didn't want to hear it,” Barrino recalled.

These days, the girl seems to be more confident in her appearance thanks to the encouragement of her famous mother. And as for Fantasia, she has become one of the most iconic vocalists of our time, and she’s glowing.
