Mary Ann Mendoza is part of one of the so-called “angel families” who lost family members due to illegal immigrants in the US. She recently published an article online on how she feels the situation should be handled.
The framework of her article centered on the recent State of the Union address which was delivered by President Donald Trump on February 5 this year.
According to her a leader or political party’s agenda can be deduced from who they invite to attend the address in a particular year.
In 2014 Mary’s son, Brandon, was killed by an illegal immigrant in Mesa. He worked as a sergeant in the local police force and was passionate about keeping citizens safe.
One night he drove home from a shift and lost his life due to a head-on collision with a drunk driver. The person driving the other car was three times over the legal blood-alcohol limit. There was also meth in his system at the time of the accident.
Brandon is not the only one who could have been implicated in the driver’s drunk and high spree. He had been driving the wrong direction for over 35 miles, which included four highways.
Brandon had many plans to improve his community, including a renovation project in Guerrero Park. He also worked to ensure that rental properties adhered to building codes and that they were safe for tenants.
ANGELS OF THE UNION
Mary feels that President Trump is working to protect the US from people such as the one who killed her son, but that the Democrat’s agenda does not aline with this.
President Trump invited the Mendoza family to attend the State of the Union address, but the speaker (Nancy Pelosi) did not invite any “angel families.”
However, she feels that the Democrats only invited people who can advance their political goals and are not concerned about the safety and security of US citizens.
