Tamera Mowry Dishes on 'Sister, Sister' Revival & Upcoming Family Reality Show
There’s a reason the rumored “Sister, Sister” reboot hasn’t materialized and Tamera Mowry recently revealed why. She also says she has a new project up her sleeve and it involves her family.
Tamera Mowry sat down with Hollywood Life during the launch of her partnership with Blue Bunny Ice Cream to share details about the fate of the “Sister, Sister” reboot and a new reality show she’s working on. She implies the reunion show is uncertain but her reality show is a go.
RE-THINKING THE REBOOT
It’s been a while since we’ve heard about developments concerning the “Sister, Sister” reunion that was rumored to happen. Last year, Tamera revealed they already had a writer and the original cast was on board but they were still waiting on some things.
“The show is iconic so the reboot needs to be amazing or we need to leave it alone.”
But now that’s it’s over a year since news of the reboot broke, many who were excited are getting impatient waiting for the show to return. If it’s only up to Tamera, she’d be happy to bring the show back, but she reveals recently, there’s a lot to think about.
For one thing, Tamera tells Hollywood Life, “the material has to be 100% right, otherwise what’s the point.” There’s also the aspect of timing to consider. “Timing is everything,” she says.
Tamera was only 15 when she portrayed twin sister Tamera Campbell to her real-life twin Tia Mowry’s character, Tia Landry. In the story, they were separated at birth but accidentally found each other in their teens. The show ran for five years.
Two decades after it went off the air, Tamera now thinks a reboot will have to be extra special.
“The show is iconic so the reboot needs to be amazing or we need to leave it alone.”
PLANNING A NEW PROJECT
While that show’s fate remains uncertain, Tamera was more definite about her latest project which she’s excited to be doing. She revealed she and her husband, Adam Housley are working on a reality show about their family. It will be in the digital format.
BLENDING WORK AND FAMILY
This is not the first time Tamera is exposed to reality TV, having been a part of one with her sister in 2011’s “Tia & Tamera.” However, the new show will be special to her because it will include her children, Aden John, 6 and Ariah Talea, 3.
In the past, she’s been accused by her detractors of focusing more on her career than her kids, the kind of mommy-shaming she wouldn’t stand for.
Tamera must be thrilled to be able to spend more time with her kids with this new endeavor. The devoted mom has been making sure to balance her work and family as much as she can.
LEADING BY EXAMPLE
In the past, she’s been accused by her detractors of focusing more on her career than her kids, the kind of mommy-shaming she wouldn’t stand for. The host of “The Real” clapped back by saying she leads by example. She shows her children that it’s okay to pursue their dreams even with family obligations.
Tamera is at the top of her game both in her career and family life. To be able to combine these two passions in one project is another reason for her to smile and prove her detractors wrong.
